2022 GCL Co-Ed

There are some good teams in this league. Badin cruised to the league title and their in conference run differential was huge. Votes for All GCL are cast before tournament ends but making a state run is incredibly hard. Badin has by far the most talent, yes, but they are absolutely coached well. Do they have to go undefeated in league and win state for him to have any shot?

Also this thread has been littered with posts expressing frustration with Alter's struggles. From an Alter dad, "Lots of frustration as you can tell, this is the most talented Alter team we've had in so long and we still can't find a way to win." That was from earlier in the season. The very first post on this thread stated that Alter had more returning starters than any team. I have nothing against Alter or their coaches, but based on these things I wouldn't call 10-16 and 3-7 in league over achieving. Their conference winning percentage was lower this year than 2021 despite returning 8 starters.

Great post regarding the Badin coaching staff. I had coached or coached with many of their staff. As for Alter I think that's a huge hill to climb. To turn around a program you must have successful seasons. I would suggest playing a much easier schedule if possible. The league is what it is but there are plenty of Ws to be found elsewhere. Going to Florida is a huge plus however you will always be up against it with the teams you play down there. I have seen plenty of decent Alter teams with bad records. With the state of their football and basketball programs always being one of the best in SW Ohio you will to have success as a program to turn it around.
CJ-I know bad comparison for Alter fans-shows you how quickly a program can turn around with the right coaching staff. For many years they were far and away the worst program in the GCL. Hang in there.

I hear that Franklin's coach is in the mix for the Fenwick job. One has to figure he's the front runner. Midland guy, already a head coach, big twitter guy. Any chance their very good soph pitcher ends up somewhere in August when school starts back up?
