2020 Cincinnati Bengals

Also, the amount of people trying to rationalize taking a Kicker in the 5th round is insane. They’re a dime a dozen. Yeah, every now & then you have someone like Tucker, but most are on an indefinite rotation from team to team. They might have a great season one yr, then fell apart the next, get cut, and sign somewhere else to repeat the process.

Bengal UDFA's

Pro Wells, TE TCU
Pooka Williams. Jr., RB, Kansas
Collin Hill, QB, South Carolina
Antonio Phillips, CB, Ball State
Darius Hodge, DE, Marshall
Drue Chrisman, P, Ohio State

Hodge is the best of the bunch, probably at LB, even with the sad state of LB's, don't think he will make team, a ST type.
Williams can make the team as a return specialist, too small to be a RB

Doehner, jr. had a good article in the Athletic, basically saying if the line is average the Bengals are in really good shape. However, the best you can say right now is maybe the line is okay, and that's not good enough.

If the line turns out to be average, they will be in good shape. Time will tell whether or not that is the case. They finished in the bottom 1/4th last year in explosive passing plays as well as rushing yards per attempt and per game, and in spite of that, were pretty competitive when a horrible line did enough to keep Joe Burrow mostly upright and throwing short and intermediate routes.

Having Chase to stretch the field if the line is average improves the offense in all of those areas. If the line turns out to still be poor despite the additions they made and getting healthier, then they are stupid for not picking Sewell and it won't matter that they have a deep threat to unclog things for the other route runners and especially to aid the running game.

So the Bengals had a 3 day practice schedule but called off the last 2 days. Yet Tampa Bay, the defending Super Bowl champs are still practicing. Maybe thats why they are the defending champs...

No, all the Bengals showed up at the voluntary mini camp; Brady showed up at the TB voluntary mini camp, a lot other TB players boycotted it.
TB won because they got a QB named Brady and because they drafted well in picking defensive players.

Can't really compare the Bengals to the Bucs, one is a team full of veterans, and really good talent. And the other is a team in a rebuild with some young pieces to build around

Just got home from the stadium! Electric atmosphere! Tough fought battle but it’s awesome to see the guys pull one out! Who Dey!

Browns fan here, so I admit I was pulling for Urban. But credit where credit is due, Bengals fought back and won. That goal line stand right before halftime obviously was the game-changer.
