2014 Oscars

Hard to argue against McConaughey. Really impressive how he's managed to change his career from cheesey romcom guy to best actor.

Leo just has to keep up his current form. It was a pretty tough year.

And as a person of Cuban heritage who presently has relatives I havent met at age of30 because they are under a dictator and cant leave the country, I think we need to broaden the scope of people suffering as portrayed by the media/film.

How many people would see a movie about current stuff with other minorities suffering? Probably not many. It's the way the country is. Their plight is given more weight. Just telling it how it is.

Also Crusaders must have missed the other minority part of my heritage considering those people hated all non whites. What an idiotic retort.

Thanks for proving my point on how those type of movies cant be put down though without a person being labeled a racist.
 
Hitler was going after anyone who wasn't perceived to be Aryan, which included other white people. They were very specific.

Which is why it is stupid to post a picture like that. I am a different minority so I wouldnt be grouped with them either.

You said we needed a broader scope of other people's suffering :shrug: I didn't realize the Nazis didn't count either. Maybe we need more Stalin movies?

That shows how subjective these are. To me Gravity didnt even belong in the category. The effects were good but to me the movie as a whole was not Best Picture worthy.
 
I listen to Dan Patrick most days and he correctly predicted the winner of the major awards on his show last Friday. He hadn't watched a single one of the movies he was just going off the content of the movies and the roles played.
 
Good year for actors; many decent performances were left off of the noms list because of the depth.

Yes. DiCaprio was good, and he probably was snubbed in 2004 when he should have won for Aviator, but he most certainly was not snubbed this year. McConaughey was better and more deserving, IMO.
 
McConaughey ruled! Plus he lost all that weight and it was truly meaningful. Cate Blanchett deserved Oscar also. Jared Leto ruled! And he was beautiful,

Lupita Nyong'o deserved it!
 
Ellen Degenerate, the lezzie hotess of the Oscars commented twice how beautiful Leto was in the movie and there last night. Don't you pilgrims watch the show? Sober?
 
I sure don't watch, but that's actually pretty hilarious in that case. Best post you've probably ever made, sadly no one got the joke.
 
Best supporting actor was really a strong category wasn't it?

McConaughey, not a fan. But it was a good performance. Would have been easy to overact it but to me, he came off realistic. He had to take a character that showed no initiative and make that character realistically become a major border-line illegal corporation for people he really didn't care for, and make it work. He did that.

Degeneris, her I generally like. An all-ages humor but to me, it was just slow last night. However, apparently it did work, the twitter photo and the pizza thing. My favorite part was Lupita Nyong'o's nobody brother photo-bombing the twitter photo. He's going to be the year's from now, "who the f is that?"
 
DeGeneres was terrific. She was a very laid back host, and had some great gotchas even after her opening. Oscars were better than last year.
 
Stupid, stupid post! I NEVER had any intention of denigrating Elle DeGeneres, especially her preference. Just got pissed again and forgot I've done better with that since I received a stern talking to by a Yappi legend.
