JFK's coach steps down ?

I've heard this is also an issue at a fairly prominent catholic school in Licking County who JFK has played the past 3 years. The old guard vs. new money.
The general reputation of NC on this matter during the 80’s, 90’s is the parents ran everything. (the way I’m wording this is a little weird — the retrospective reputation of old NC is it was parent dominant.)

I’m not qualified to say whether that’s still the case that they have the same dilemma— just that they haven’t had that reputation of the dilemma for a while.

Jaws you just said it best.
I'm biased I loved what pro brought to our program over the past 9 years and appreciate that. The boys are better men because of his influence.
Their will always be but hurt people like you NATE or i mean slap330. You are part of that whiney bitchy soft group of sophomore parents we have.
But that class will pass too. Kennedy will still be Kennedy.
We have hit the jackpot with our last 2 football coaching hires so I'm confident we will again here in 2023. The cupboard is not bare here and never will be.
So slap jump on board or bitch as a keyboard tough guy. Either way the future of Kennedy will be fine.
As to why Pro left only he knows we can all speculate. Maybe its the bitchy sophomore parents, maybe it's the administration or maybe after 37 years of coaching it was time for a break. IDK but I do know I appreciate having him the last 9 years.

I really hope JFK gets an enrollment bump that keeps them going. A struggling community like Warren needs it.
Wasn't there a fatal shooting just this last Sunday around JFK's neighborhood on Milton Street? I know about 3-4 years ago a dead body was found on a front yard on Burton which I believe is only one street over from Milton.

Warren used to be a vibrant rich community back in the 50's - 70's with high paying manufacturing jobs that are long gone.

Yes cjb, Warren is a struggling community, part of it is their fault and part of it they had no control over it. I know people that have bought many houses in Warren for under 10K.

Oh, I know. I’ve spent plenty of time in Warren. Have some relatives there. It’s a shell of what it once was and there is a major league hard drug problem there, but a robust JFK would be something good for the city. Hopefully the enrollment ticks upward.

Why is no one answering the question as to why is he leaving? Everyone has all the answers except for why is he leaving?
That’s what I want to know as well. I think any potential hires for this position might want to get in touch with coach Prologo and find out what’s going on behind the scenes.

The question has been answered. The "new members" that have posted on here have answered all the questions you might have as to how Coach Pro might not want to deal those types of parents. Some of the problems have already solved themselves.

I've heard you should look straight to the top as to why he left
That’s a shame if it’s true, and it sounds like it is. The next coach they hire has some big shoes to fill. I hope they can get it straightened out in a timely manner or I’m afraid their 2023 season will be a tough one.

There's a chance that not everyone needs to know the reason. Maybe the guy's a human and has many other things in his life going on. This guy's every day job was not just only coaching football right?

You are correct. He is in finance. Fun fact, he stepped away a few years ago as Coach Bayuks DC but wanted to come back because he missed it. People like ytown just want drama and are mad that they don't get "facts" to help feed the drama.

I have a somewhat off topic question. With all the success of the boys teams at JFK with 7 OHSAA State Championships in 4 sports with 2 football titles, why haven't the girls won any? There aren't any dominant All Girls schools in the Youngtown area like Magnificat and Beaumont in the Cleveland area or Cincinnati St Ursula and Mount Notre Dame in the Southwest part of the state.

Girls have had success in track individually at JFK historically, but no team sports have had a ton of success. Other than Champion softball there hasn't been many girls sports that have won many titles in Trumbull county.

Actually girls basketball and volleyball should have been really good this year and the next couple, but have one parent that caused many issue. Trying to get coaches fired. Trying to dictate lineups. Things seem to be good after every parent and kid on the team stuck up for coach. It’s very sad what is going on everywhere with coaches bullying kids lol. Think like 4 or 5 girls/boys coaches in our area have been suspended. I’m a firm believer that these people need called out by name and they shut up or leave

slap330 talks like a tough guy then deletes his account. This really explains the problem with parents. Lives through their kids and if they don’t get their playing time they leave and bitch on the internet. People like you are the reason there aren’t many great coaches around, no one wants to deal with parents like you. If your kid isn’t good enough or ready to play at a great program like JFK take them to Lakeview. I’m sure your kid will fit in great there. If i’m not mistaken you and coach pro go way back, he was your coach I’ve heard. You must’ve been that kid that wasn’t ready to play for a great coach back in the day and the easiest thing for you is to run your mouth and leave. 3 straight regional championships and 2 state championship appearances, if you think the coach is the mistake then we will gladly escort you out. Best of luck to lakeview and your son in 2023 yappi tough guy.

Johnson&Johnson said it the best. Parents like you are the ones who ruin it for the kids. It’s sad how just 1 bad apple in the bunch can ruin the whole program. It’s a shame that people like you hate on Prologo. Prologo won us 3 straight regionals and 2 state runner-ups. Kennedy has a tradition and if you don't want to be a part of it, LEAVE. At Kennedy, if you fail, you work harder. No shortcuts to success here.

what other sports have they won titles in?

I know they won Baseball a few years ago. Their track program is legit and will be again for the next few years with the speed coming up(at least from what @Jaws31 has told me). Basketball team has been really good as well. So I know they won 1 in Baseball, Football, and Track. Not sure what else.

According to Businessinsider.com, Warren is the 9th most miserable city in the country. 2/3 of their population is under the poverty level.

It certainly is cjb, as you have posted, a shell of a once proud thriving city.

Correct. McDonald Girls Bball was runner-ups in 2021, while XC and Track won titles in 2014. Prior to that, I think you'd have to go back to like Ridge winning a Softball title in the 80s.

Exactly why schools need strong leadership at the top, especially at a private school tell the trouble making parents to take there kids and get out if things are being done properly and they are unsatisfied with playing time.
