Price Hill Candidate Night

For those who are interested, the three Price Hill Community Councils are sponsoring a candidate's night, for all City Council and mayoral candidates at the Incline Theater, this Tuesday, October 12th starting at 6:30 p.m..

It went fine last night. A better showing would have made clear our commitment to hold the City to fair treatment for the westside. I know that St. William was having an important Beacon of Light meeting and I know that cut into attendance. The three Price Hill community councils did a great job. It is too bad that Elder choose not to be involved this time.

Elder didn’t have a rep present for this? Did Mr. Pureevil show up?

I'll make the decision really simple. Go to the candidates Social Media profiles and if they have pronouns in their bio, DO NOT vote for them. So anyone with he/him, she/her or worse they/them in the social media bios is not someone you want in charge of the city or the community.

Elder did not have a representative this time. Last time it was held at Elder and 20 or so students were involved. Elder could not host it this year due to their time restraints and the number of council candidates involved. That was really a shame as the students seemed to get a lot out of participating and Elder would get some positive press for hosting. Interesting note, the MC Kristen Swilley of WCPO news, who is cute as can be, is engaged to an Elder grad and lives in Price Hill. Yes, both mayoral candidates showed up and I have to say Pureval came across much better than Mann.

Appreciate the reply. It’s a real shame the Defund the Police Supporter Mayoral candidate came across much better than Mann. Nothing personal but hope others didnt leave there feeling the same as you about the Mayoral candidates. I certainly don’t think Pureevil as Mayor would benefit the Price Hill community in any form or fashion.

He addressed the issues with a view from the westside more than Mann did. He picked up on the nuances of the questions asked by the attendees and was more direct and detailed in his response. My vote will go to Mann, but, Pureval is sharp.

Don't live in Cincy, serious question: Will it make any difference who is elected?

Not so much a higher regard but an acknowledgement that most are good at looking like they know what they are talking about. Most don't but some do.

In times of crisis. 2 summers ago, we saw what could happen to cities with weak leadership like Minneapolis, Seattle and especially Portland.

I know he’s a Democrat, but I think Cranley did a good job overall. I wish he was still able to run.

He’s so old he’s going to have to plead his case in front of a tribunal wearing a powdered wig.
Have you seen his hair? He doesn't need a powdered wig. It is already completely white.

I believe Cranley has his own problems with colluding with developers. I do not that he has not been very kind to the westside, often opposing the wishes of the various community councils and the people they represent.

How can a mayor stop a council member from taking a bribe?
They can’t. Think Mann has said he has a Code of Conduct he wants to implement for All City workers and Council Members. Pureevil is a money making machine, not familiar with a budget as large as the city’s. More money more room for corruption in my view.

What can show that demonstrates Mr Pure Al is corrupt? Just because you don't agree doesn't make him corrupt.

You do know that Pureval is being backed by a Socialist group founded by Bernie Sanders? I apologize for forgetting the exact name of this particular group but almost everything these types of Groups “do” is crooked/corrupt. Also, I would consider any Defund the Police Candidate/Supporter as somewhat shady, corrupt, crooked whatever you want to call it.

Leadership would have kept Tamaya Dennard from taking those bribes? I don’t see it.
I don't know. If she had a strong leader as a mentor when she took office I think maybe it could have made a difference. The problem in city hall right now is that it is every person for themselves and unfortunately several took the greedy path.

I don't mean to pile on here, but before Tamaya Dennard was elected to city council she was held jobs such as campaign manager, director of community affairs and chief of staff all for similarly indicted P.G. Sittenfeld.
