Mooney should be #2 in this poll. I can't see either LaBrae or Lisbon beating the Cards. Plus Mooney manhandled E Liverpool. Ursuline at Mooney on Feb 9 has the makings of an upset. JFK has really been up and down recently. Fitch just lost to Howland. Canfield toppled Poland. South Range ought to make this list.

Ursuline boys maintain top spot at Mahoning Matters Super 7 poll / FEBRUARY 21, 2024:

1) URSULINE The Youngstown Ursuline Irish are No. 1 again this week after recording a trio of impressive wins in the past week over Akron Hoban (55-52), Bristol (81-30) and East Liverpool (72-53) on Monday night. The Irish are 17-3 on the season and have won 5 games in a row.
2) CANFIELD The Canfield Cardinals jump all the way up to No. 2 in this week’s poll. Coach John Cullen’s Cards are 17-4 on the season and have won eight games in a row, including a 63-50 win over Alliance last weekend.
3) EAST LIVERPOOL East Liverpool fell from No. 2 to No. 3 in the poll following its loss to No. 1 Ursuline. Coach Nate Conley’s Potters are 16-5 on the season and they will host No. 2 Canfield Thursday night.
4) WEST BRANCH West Branch is No. 4 in this week’s poll. The Warriors of head coach Scott Loudon have won five games in a row and are 17-3 on the season. West Branch is coming off a 65-40 win over Girard.
5) LISBON Lisbon vaults to No. 5 in the poll. The Blue Devils recorded a 91-51 victory over the Academy of Urban Scholars in its most recent contest. Lisbon is 18-3 on the season and has won three in a row.
6) LABRAE The LaBrae Vikings move up to No. 6 in the mahoningmatters.com poll. The Vikings are 18-2 on the season.
7) POLAND Poland holds down the No. 7 place in the poll. The Bulldogs are 14-7 on the season and are coming off a 41-34 triumph over the Boardman Spartans.

Should the Howland game have been by a bigger margin? Saw the box score and it looks like they get scoring primarily from the Gunther kid.

No poll is perfect, but outside of Ursuline & Canfield I can't see any of those teams beating Cardinal Mooney.

Lisbon loses in the opening round to Cornernsburg Christian. 68-65. However I'm pretty sure their star didn't play due to an untimely family death
