Will Shadeur Sanders most likely get drafted to the Cleveland Browns?

Just read some of the pre-selection comments from NFL people, including HCs all praising his workouts and character, including HCs that passed him over and Cleveland's coach. I suppose they couldn't say otherwise so what is the reality?

Teams have to draft their needs. I suppose it comes down to, is he only the sixth best QB? Cleveland may have gotten a steal. They definitely got a story. Media loves him.
Do you really fail to understand that disinformation re one's draft intentions is a common tactic among the teams seeking to trade down, or do you simply choose to ignore this to further a narrative ? No qualitative commentary could stand as evidentiary as to "true player value". Utterly subjective, and therefore immaterial.

Oh cool, a gaslighting response.And on a topic that's become a moot point to boot, lol.

Have a great day!

Does "gaslighting" mean something else besides the drumbeat repetition of a lie in hopes of its eventual acceptance ?

If you're calling me a liar, I hope you step in a large, sticky pile of dog crap on the way to your mailbox today.

lol
What I'm not calling you is all-knowing. ;) If that gets in your head, 🤷
I do know that "gaslighting" is lying, is it not ? I also know that the burden of proof in a "now moot suit" is upon Sanders as the plaintiff, so omniscience is not required on my part. That's what's in my head. Your head, however, remains an enigma.

So, was that the Browns last pick in the draft? If so, not a bad risk. He needs to be humbled from what I'm hearing. If that can be done, the Browns might just shake off that sheen that has been plaguing them. I hate big egos like Sanders. Don't get me wrong, he was good, but his "I'm better than you" crap, I hate.

Yes, round 5, pick 144. The Browns last pick

That Sanders single pick with Seattle's #144 could have been 2 position players at positions of need.

On a team this weak, especially after reaching up for Dillon Gabriel first and spending 2 picks on RBs, trading away #166 and #192 to take Sanders at #144 really can't happen, but yet it did. No comprehensive plan was followed. This is why we remain "The Clowns".

I didn't know that. That was really dumb of the Clowns. Heck, get someone of need at #166 and pick Sanders at #192. Wow, The Clowns and Bungles are cursed! Don't get me wrong, I love my Bengals, but they never (once in a Blue Moon) have a needful draft.

The Sanders saga will be talked about for years. Such a unique situation. I mean think of it. Have we ever had a prospective draft pick, with a hall of famer dad who was his only coach. He was good, but there were some questions about his overall game. Add the information that he was picking teams, he didn't seem to be an all in kind of guy, just alot of things that would/ could push teams away. At the end of the day, being a pro athlete is and always will be a privilege, not a right. Talent normally wins the day. But Sanders overall talent isn't good enough to just take him no matter what .
This is a big shout out to some of these guys who want to just step on everyone on the way up. Be humble, stay humble.

QB is the one position that just doesn’t automatically translate from college to the nfl. Many highly rated college qbs have been total failures in the nfl. Picking Sanders where they did is a bargain. Now see what he can bring. Better pick than where they picked Gabriel.
Gabriel could end up being the next great short QB ,like Drew Brees left handed verson. You dont know nuthin know nuthin . Mr Diamond is the king of the beat -SAH

A little "levity' on the situation:

This week, Trump Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt seemed to confirm that White House actually believes the President deserves credit for Sanders finally getting picked.

“Does the President think he deserves credit for Sanders getting picked, and does he think going to the Browns is better than being undrafted?” Fox News asked the press secretary.

Leavitt's answer, "All I will say is, the President put out a statement and a few rounds later he was drafted. So, I think the facts speak for themselves on that one.”

For sure, it’s just doing both that’s insane.

The stupidity of the statement and those who actually believe it. Sanders was drafted where he was because of how he handled the draft process.

The draft process that showed the NFL he has hours of video indicating that he can't even read a Big 12 defense ?

Did it occur to you that the young lady could be trolling like her orange boss ?

You know nothing about reading defenses. Your statement of “hours of video indicating he can’t even read a B12 defense” is not the entirely true and not the reason Sanders dropped in the draft. The average game has 12-15 minutes of actual in game action so let’s go with 15 minutes but approximately 1/2 is Colorado’s Defense on the field. I’ll give you 8 minutes of Colorado offense video and 24 games played over 2 seasons but only 9 of those games are B12 (7-2) from last season as Colorado played in the PAC 12 on 2023.
* 8 min x 9 B12 2024 games = 72 minutes
* 8 min x 9 PAC12 2023 games = 72 minutes

Sanders fell in the draft due to his average size, speed, arm and just a crappy conceited attitude and zero preparation for interviews with NFL teams.

You are a fraud, do not talk football on a football site as far too many people (especially Ohioans) know their stuff about football.

Why do you think he took all those sacks, he can’t even change a protection scheme.

Or are you telling me that his line hated him so much that they did the bull fighter “Ole!”?

So you really believe colleges with only 20 hours of practice time a week have their QB change plays & blocking schemes at the line of scrimmage? How many times did you see Ohio St rush to the line ancting like they anre going to run an play only to stop and everyone look to the sideline? Was Will Howard calling the plays & changing clocking schemes?

There are several factors for sacks besides the QB:
* At Colorado in 2023 they were coming off a 1-11 2022, thus not much talent on the roster. In 2024 I believe they were preseason picked second to last in the B12 but finished tied for first. The Jimmy’s & The Joes. Colorado didn’t have them on the oline.
* Being down early & often in most games forces one into passing situations which allows the defenders to ‘pin their ears back’ (football expression).
* Little to no running game either year but that is partially Deion’s fault for not emphasizing it.
* Sanders is a pocket passer and he will hold onto the ball to let the play develop for hopes of a big play. It’s a good/bad trait but one the NFL typically likes depending on the situation & play call with down/distance factored in.
* In 2 years at Colorado Sanders completed 71.2% of his passes, 7364 yards passing, 64 td’s, 13 int’s and 8 rushing td’s.

Sanders stats & results do not lie, he can play at the college level but he is no Mahomes, Elway, Allen, Luck physical freak. Sanders actions leading up to the draft proved he is no difference maker in a positive light from a personality standpoint thus his drop.

“He can play at the college level”, and so can a bunch of other big 12 quarterbacks that go on to sell life insurance.

He’s lazy and dumb, like you, and it would not surprise me in the least if he never throws a pass in a regular season game for the Browns.

So you wouldn’t be surprised if Sanders never throws a pass in a Browns regular season game. A May 1st bold statement that could look foolish by Thanksgiving. Don’t worry I will rehash this for you by Thanksgiving unless Sanders gets cut or starts before then.

Make sure that you actually quote it properly, instead of pulling one of your typical "moving of the goalposts" accidental edit stunts

The question is: which Browns game will the NFL tell Jimmy to start Sanders in order to garner tv ratings?

I would guess the Browns will start off with Pickett because he would give them the best chance to win week 1 unless they trade him to a team who needs a solid backup for probably a 6th or 7th round pick. If Pickett is gone I’d think the week 1 starter would be Flacco. Sit the 2 rookies for at least 6 to 8 weeks to learn & settle into the NFL. If the Browns are on their way to a 6 win season, start one of the rookies after the bye week (obviously this depends on when the bye week occurs, schedules come out May 15th). Starting them the first week after the bye gives the qb two weeks of prep with the 1st team offense, ideally the Browns would like 7 to 10 starts from one of the rookies to observe them and see if they may have struck lightning in the bottle & found their future qb. If not, draft a qb in the 1st round of the 2026 draft. Browns have those two 1st rounders next year and it’s projecting to have 5 possible first round caliber qb’s.

Flacco would give them the best chance to win, and will start #1 if healthy. That's very obviously why they signed him after Pickett, but before the draft. Duh.

Pickett is a regrettable after-thought at this point, in spite of the fact he may well be a better long-term backup QB than either rookie will prove to be.

Did you see any of Flacco’s games last year with the Colts? Flacco’s 2022 Browns season vs 2023 Colts season he threw for 100 yards less a game, took 18 sacks vs only 8 with only 44 more pass attempts w/ the Colts abd was 2-4 as a starter. Flacco did throw one less int, 8 vs 7. Flacco can just as easily lose you the fane as he can win it. Picket’s strength is not turning the ball over and he provides some mobility. Plus, Pickett has a 2 years of experience throwing to the Browns #2 wr Diontae Johnson. Flacco’s biggest asset to the Browns is being a vet to show the rookies how to break down film & weekly preparation and just how to be a professional. That was the main reason for the Flacco signing.

Don’t get me wrong, the chances of the Browns winning in week 1 are slim with either Flacco or Pickett at QB. 2026 is the March for Arch unless one of the rookie QB’s proves they can play.

I actually saw him in person against the Giants. Same old Flacco. Looks like Superman on one play and Nathan Peterman on the next. He's been awful for a long time with the exception of his brief run with the Browns.

If I am the Browns, 80% of the snaps in the preseason get split between Sanders and Gabriel. They know what they have in Pickett and Flacco. The competition should be good for Sanders and humble him a little. He's never really been involved in any type of competition for a QB job with his daddy as the coach.
