Will Shadeur Sanders most likely get drafted to the Cleveland Browns?

Well, was reading like “internet gossip” about Shadeur Sanders, Colorado Buffaloes former QB, was reading a story or something that the Cleveland Browns actually do have the “2nd overall pick” in the NFL Draft so insiders are predicting that the Cleveland Browns could very well may use that pick for Coach Primes Son Shadeur Sanders??

What do you think of that “scenario”?? Do you think that could potentially end up happening? What would you say would be the “percentage chance” that the Cleveland Browns would want Shadeur Sanders? Perhaps a 50% chance? 75% chance? 100% chance they draft him??

Of all of the NFL teams, the Browns are the most notorious for having no clue when it comes to choosing a good quarterback or developing the ones they get. So, if, they draft Sanders at #2, you can bet that he will be a colossal flop.

Rumor in the NFL circles is Ward 1, Hunter 2 and then the giants will choose between Carter and Sanders.

I'd say 25% chance.

I saw something yesterday where some online guy projected that the Browns would take Hunter then make a big trade with Carolina to come back up to 8 and take Sanders. If that happens we have to hope it works out better than the last time the Browns took two guys from the same school in the first round and ended up with Steve Holden and Pete Adams from Arizona State.

Pete Adams was from USC.

It’s not hard to look at the Sanders draft party, which was more heavily produced than Battlefield Earth, the pro day—excuse me, The Showcase, complete with VIP seating and a logo/slogan (WE AIN’T HARD 2 FIND)—the second logo (a modified dollar sign), the references to being “legendary” and the explosive reaction to any perceived slight, and seeing nothing but an endless migraine.

At this point, Sanders’s best bet will be to circumnavigate the remainder of Rounds 4–7 and get himself into undrafted free agency. There, Sanders, a bright young kid with an accurate arm, pocket toughness, the ability to play on schedule and good situational mobility, can market himself to a curious franchise completely stripped of this gaudy showmanship. You know, the kind of thing that would have made sense to do a few months ago.

I just heard Bart Winkler make the best description of Sanders falling to day three - “The reason that Sanders remains undrafted is that people don’t want him on their team “
BINGO. If he was a generational talent it might be a bit different but he is not and all signs point to him being the biggest side show ME guy ever.

Under the NCAA's rules, once a player declares for the draft, they automatically forego their remaining eligibility to play college football. This applies to players who go undrafted as well.

In football as opposed to other sports, declaring for the draft equates to a player committing to a professional career and thereby giving up their amateur status for good.

There is a time-sensitive exception: a player who has declared for the draft can choose to take his name out of the mix by a certain deadline—assuming he hasn't signed with an NFL agent. Former Miami quarterback Cam Ward went down this route before the 2024 NFL draft and ultimately returned to school. For Sanders, however, that deadline has long passed.
He might be relegated to:

Who could have imagined a 2 day talent with a bad attitude and history of throwing his teammates under the bus would bomb the interview process and tank his own draft stock. I’m shocked!
Yep. He's a good college QB (not great) with an outsized ego and terrible attitude, according to all reports. He can thank his pampering daddy for that. Nobody wants a arrogant a-hole in their locker room, especially at QB, unless he is an absolutely elite talent.

Word is that the personal interviews do not come close to revealing a "face of the franchise" communicator, either, which is certainly a part of the job today. No one wants Deion doing the post-game pressers for his son more than once.

A real test of who the Sanders fam really is will come when they are tempted to pivot to Kaepernick-like excuses for this League-wide "mass passover".

I think Sean Payton may be correct, though. At least for a while, this young man is going to have a chip on his shoulder and a lot to prove to the whole world. It's just a matter of if it can be sustained, and drive him like Tom Brady's draft did him, or if he'll just shrug and head for the beach by this time next year.

Bingo … average talent who acted like he was something special … the part I didn’t like hearing was he and his group threw teammates under the bus numerous times … hopefully for this kid, this is a wake up call and he just puts his head down and works and forgets all the other stuff

Sanders would have to challenge the NCAA in court. Plus, I don’t know if he has another year of eligibility or not.

The $$$ loss by Sanders: if he was drafted by the Steelers at No. 21 overall, he’d be in line for an $18 million contract over 4 years. A fourth-round pick can expect a rookie deal worth between $4.9 million and $5.3 million over 4 years.

If he had stayed in college Sanders would have made $2 mil plus in NIL $$$ at Colorado in 2025 alone (assuming he had another year of eligibility).

He might be a steal at this point. If no one drafts him, expect the collusion law suit. Lawyers probably started lining up after round 2. If he goes to the camps, Daddy is going to have to stay FAR away if the kid is to have a shot.

Daddy Sanders seems like a good human. A lot of his behavior, I just don't get nor why he hasn't come to some self-realization it's getting in the way.

To me it seem Deion is using his child and players as some sort of selfish ego driven agenda. Almost trying to prove to whomever that he can coach and get guys on the league. Maybe he was slighted by a college or nfl higher up and this is his way showing them. All it’s done is attract way more haters.

The draft party hype-beast extravaganza reminded every GM that dude doesn't need a dime, and that the reason is one decidedly un-humble Deion Sanders in your locker room and front office, if you draft his kid.

A collusion suit against the NFL or even a group of owners is a non-starter without a smoking gun from their private communications. Owner settlement "can't" happen, and a litigated victory will not.

Suing the NCAA for the restoration of any "remaining" eligibility and humbling himself for a year in college - on his own two feet, arm, and head, alone - makes more sense, I think.

All that has been accomplished by all of the over-the-top Sanders hype is the full showing of their azses. And the reminder that SS has never been successful w/o dad and Hunter.

No owner or owner's agent is obliged under any circumstances to reveal their thinking or intentions for their roster, much less to justify why Sanders fails to meet their needs.

Not a good place for him to be.

Nope, not to bring the suit. All they need is a pattern. It would be reasonable. Every pre-draft prediction had him going early. That would probably be enough to get access to communications, though I doubt those exist. I'd counter with Deion's comment that they would choose which team he will play for. That would be enough I think for the oweners to give reason not to draft him.

with the 144th pick.. the b rowns take Sanders ...good pick...AT A LOW COST

What was the response from Sanders' camp? As I posted above, Deion had already said they'd pick the team they will play for. I believe I have that correct. Do you think they had already made contact with the Browns?

i saw the Sanders kid jumping into their swimming pool after being picked? so I guess Deion called the Browns and said... OK, now you can pick my son..with the 144th pick

Just read some of the pre-selection comments from NFL people, including HCs all praising his workouts and character, including HCs that passed him over and Cleveland's coach. I suppose they couldn't say otherwise so what is the reality?

Teams have to draft their needs. I suppose it comes down to, is he only the sixth best QB? Cleveland may have gotten a steal. They definitely got a story. Media loves him.

One may bring any dumb-azsed suit that a lawyer is willing to carry, for whatever motivates that lawyer.

The draft prognostications of any supposed "draft expert" are nothing more than meaningless brain candy. The draft itself re-establishes this fact every single year. Sorry, but that would take some pretty special venue shopping, to accomplish what you suggest here^.
