No. I think all states should have laws criminalizing reckless handling of firearms. Several states have laws that prohibit leaving a gun in your unlocked car. Common sense would suggest that every state should have such a law.

In almost all crimes committed calling 911 does not stop the crime form happening it does bring a response most cases after the fact bringing police to investigate the crime scene and to work to catch the criminal after the fact. If you having a deterrent. close at hand it just might stop the crime as it is happens and let you be there still breathing to explain what was happening to the police when they finally arrive. Police do not stop crimes they investigate and hopefully catch the criminal after the fact.

Locked or unlocked I think you should stay out of my car unless I give you permission to enter it. It is mine not yours get it. By the way police told me when my locked car was stolen that a pro car thief can get in your car with out a key almost as fast as you can with one.

Not really learned, but confirmed that Trump does not understand how tariffs work or what inflation is. His Time Magazine interview is astounding in his ignorance and it's even more unreal that people screaming about inflation would support someone with so little / no understanding of inflation and tariffs.

No. I think all states should have laws criminalizing reckless handling of firearms. Several states have laws that prohibit leaving a gun in your unlocked car. Common sense would suggest that every state should have such a law.

BTW ... In most states, even concealed carry permits require firearms in automobiles to be secured. Leaving them in an unlocked car would not likely qualify, so this idiot who left it there should be charged in accordance with the law.

We should analyze the number of crimes committed usings a gun in comparison the number of crimes stopped because of a gun. I think it has been done before. I bet it is interesting. Regardless of what you think about the 2nd amendment, suggesting the country is safer with guns is abject stupidity.

I listen and look at all sides and then use the part with sense you know the common kind to come to a conclusion to what is best for me, my family and our nation. I truly have found that I do not have to swallow everything the fake news tells me on how I should think and what I believe as you seem and have shown to do.

The volume of gray matter, or neural cell bodies, making up the anterior cingulate cortex, an area that helps detect errors and resolve conflicts, tends to be larger in liberals. And the amygdala, which is important for regulating emotions and evaluating threats, is larger in conservatives. (Why Conservatives are more afraid of things than Liberals.)

On the whole, the research shows, conservatives desire security, predictability and authority more than liberals do, and liberals are more comfortable with novelty, nuance and complexity.

I just learned the DEA is planning to reclassify Marijuana as a "less dangerous" drug. I personally question that finding and I will point out that each time I give my opinion on a subject I get from the left "show the proof." I might point out that all you have to do is look at the places it has been legalized for a time and then look at who get elected into office. If this does not point to some type of brain damage I do not know what does.

Nice post. I have read some papers concerning your post and will admit I am not as well versed as you. Could you please provide your "on the whole research", beyond what I can google. This is interesting to me...not being a smartarse here.

Seems a few universities have had a enough and called the police to close up camping in their front or back lawns. Fox has reported on this with reporters and cameras on site. This morning I was watching the dismantle of the camp grounds and arrests of the trespassers. I did switch of to CNN to see what they were reporting. they did not have live reporting but they were running the headline down below of how they thought police were shooting the protesters with rubber bullets. At the same time they were interviewing Senator Elisabeth Warren and she was speaking about abortion and how R's want to stop the killing of baby before they are born.
