Week 8: Winton Woods

The odds of either scenario are minimal. My preference would’ve been to kneel, bc I believe e would’ve had to only take 2 snaps. I feel more confident executing 2 snaps vs kicking off to WW
I don't understand that call, the game was over. Ramsey knows WW can score quick. Why give them the chance of having the game decided by an onside kick, when the game was over.

im telling you week 10 elder vs lasale is going to be a classic and will be sold out easy. also these men of elder. the mighty panthers are special this year.

I agree. My only thinking was they wanted to get Johnson a TD for running hard on that drive.

Regardless, I’m not going to over analyze that decision, it had no bearing on the game. The overall gameplan on both sides of the ball was excellent. That should be the focus of discussion.

And a Turnover.

That and Royer’s TD before the half were probably the 2 biggest plays of the night. I feel like the Royer TD was an especially big boost to E’s confidence bc they had stalled out their previous 2 drives and all the momentum was with WW.

I do think WW made 3 major mistakes on kickoffs when they squibbed/pooched instead of kicking deep and the kick OOB before half. E was getting nothing in the return game, but those kicks gave E great field position.

How many turnovers does Elder have on the year? I honestly can't recall more than 3. Outstanding discipline with turnovers and penalties this year.

I didn't see the game. With William held to just over 4 YPC, how did WW do their damage and score 37? I know one was a kick return and another in garbage time. Did the QB hurt them?

#1 Demeer Blankumsee had a 42 yard TD run and a 98 yard KO return for touchdown. He also caught WW’s last touchdown pass as time expired.

Royer isn't just a great receiver. He can play a little defense, too, when needed.

E – Catania 7-yard pass from Luebbe, Harmeyer kick (4:44 1st)
WW – Blankumsee 44-yard run, Velasquez kick (3:57 1st)
E – Ramsey 3-yard run, Harmeyer kick (10:19 2nd)
WW – Blankumsee 42-yard run, Velasquez kick (8:26 2nd)
WW – Williams 1-yard run, 2 pt pass failed (2:01 2nd)
E – Royer 11-yard pass from Luebbe, Harmeyer kick (0:11.4 2nd)
E – Vollmer 14-yard pass from Luebbe, Harmeyer kick (5:13 3rd)
E – Luebbe 53-yard run, Harmeyer kick (7:19 4th)
WW – Blankumsee 98-yard kickoff return, 2pt Williams run (7:04 4th)
E – Johnson 2-yard run, Harmeyer kick (0:55.5 4th)
WW – Blankumsee 18-yard pass from Wingfield (0:00)

I believe in that picture, Royer was on Offense. Was a play later in game where he had to play some D while on O or would have been an INT. Think that’s a picture of that play.

Would WW be smart to try and scramble and schedule a game for week 10 against someone? Anyone? Or would it hurt them/have no effect.

I don't think they can. OHSAA usually has a date (October 1st of this year) that a game has to be scheduled by to count. https://ohsaa.org/Portals/0/Sports/Football/FootballManual.pdf Look at page 10.

I remember back in 2001 Moeller was scheduled to play a team on 9/14/01 ( few days after 9/11. Some schools canceled their games that weekend. The Moeller Friday Night game was canceled by whoever Moeller was suppose to play. The samething happened to Ryle. Some how Moeller and Ryle got in contact with each other and scheduled a game for 9/17/01, a Monday Night. That game counted, because of the contract was signed before the October date, and the circumstance of 9/11.

Luebbe has 4 picks and 3 fumbles according to gclsports.com. Miller had a pick against Moe when he came on, but other than that I don't think there's any. With Luebbe touching the ball as much as he does, you've got that risk/reward factor, but 27 TDs to 7 TOs is a ratio I'll take all day
