Whether Massillon losses close or gets blown out means nothing in the grand scheme of Ohio vs DC football.
Ohio has only 2x the population of DC’s metro area yet outpaces DC in NFL talent by a WIDE margin. The fact that Ohio is much more spread out and limits recruiting to such an extent prevents teams from building super teams like they do in states with such elite teams like DC. Not to mention spring football is not allowed in Ohio, other teams are allowed to practice and train all year long.
Imagine if Cleveland, Akron, Youngstown, Canton and all the surrounding communities were all packed into one city. Then you have a super league of 5-6 private catholic schools that poaches ALL that talent from the city and every other team in the city is average or worse. All the talent that plays for Glenville, Avon, Massillon, Mentor, etc. would be sucked into these schools and leaving them as average teams. This is what happens in DC and other densely populated cities. Other states have an unfair advantage when it comes to building teams and I don’t put stock into single games that happen once a year. Now if Ohio teams were getting the doors blown off of them consistently by schools from Michigan, Indiana, and Kentucky along with not having players in the NFL I would be a bit more concerned.
Either way, Ohio is one of the top states in the country when it comes to football and the outcome of this game is not going to change that in the slightest.
