126 Speer was 1st I believe.

I know this is a St. Eds coach of some capacity from my years of officiating.
Guy Sako is the longtime Westshore head coach, where almost all the St Ed’s kids come from, and father of current St Ed’s assistant Gus Sako. In the interview with Zeb he says both Schork and Whitely are going to St Ed’s. In the interview with Whitely, he confirms he’s going to St Ed’s and says he believes Schork is going there as well. Absolutely no idea if that’s true or not, but that’s 2 pretty good sources.

The bigger question from the interview is what coach was disrespecting the sport haha
Just watched that again. IMHO Ref's kind of lost control of the mat. Uncertainty around choice in UT. Greens choice, Ref says Green defers, Green says no he didn't, both coaches walking all over the mat. Green coach asks for clarification. Red Coach tells him to sit down, Green Coach tells him to shut up, Red Coach screams read the rule book, chirping on both sides. Ref calls Green for UNC, awards Red 1 point, says match over. Coaches separated, Fans yell out "let them wrestle" Refs huddle. Boos rain down, Ref says " No USC", wrestling continues, potentially dangerous, stall call, injury TO, Green rides out and wins.

What match was this?

Just watched with no dog in the fight and am asking for a point of clarification, as I see this a lot. In the UTB Red stands up and Green throws a boot in after Red is on his feet forcing a potentially dangerous call. Is this stalling or potentially dangerous? Or does the ref wait until the second occurrence to call stalling. I hate when matches get stopped here because the top wrestler knows they are forcing the potentially dangerous call and a stoppage. Again, no disrespect to either kid as I know they are both very talented. As a side note, coaches should not engage with opposing coaches when they are speaking with the official.

And according to utb rules for oac defer is not a choice. My guess is Steen/Miller were deferring if alternating 30s. I'd argue if whitely would have lost that's a pretty good argument for bad time.

I saw nothing from steen/Miller that should have been USC imo but wasn't matside.

I am not certain whether the PD call is a subjective call being made where the first time it happens no matter what it is PD and then from there it is stalling or maybe it is written in that the first time is stopped for PD, but in reference to the calling of stalling, the rule is if the boot is in first/on the mat, bottom guy stands up that's stalling on the bottom man. If the boot comes in after both wrestlers are to their feet, then it is stalling top man.

The OT rules for OAC are different than HS. In HS you have 1 minute on your feet, then you have rotating :30 periods with each wrestling getting choice (top/bottom/defer), then the UTB :30.

OAC OT - 1 minute on your feet, then you have the single :30 UTB period. There are no rotating :30 periods during OAC OT.

Anyone watch the 132 final? Curious as to how after the primary ref brings the wrestlers center after a good scramble was clearly ruled out of bounds by him and without being asked the secondary official rules a takedown? Believe this was in the first period, also very delayed stall calls for almost a whole period, match was decided by the officials, and no the losing wrestler is not my kid, just curious as I felt this was controversial overall.

Having said that never leave an outcome in hands of an official, but would like some unbiased comments for anyone that saw it live or watches the replay…..

I know. the screenshot I posted is from oac.

I was assuming (maybe wrongfully so) that Miller/Steen thought they were doing alternating 30s, hence the defer.

Like I said technically according to rule the options for utb are top or bottom (not defer, although it doesn't specifically say you can't Ike it says you can't take neutral).

Another Feister is crazy.... I watched a fair share of film on him just now to see if he was as good as his brother. I won't make a call. What I do know now though, is they have one of the most obnoxious moms in the state. All of their videos you hear her screaming like she is being robbed each time one of the Feister's get the kid on their back. She basically collapses a lung each time one of the kids wins and it sounds like a chihuahua got their foot stepped on. As if her kids aren't genetically modified monsters... cheer on your kids but act like you have been there lol. I'm just rambling. I'm assuming the younger goes 215 and the older goes 285.
