Breaking that down, if unbeaten FSU knocks off Louisville to reach the final four, the Cardinals go here. There's a chance an SEC team is placed here to play the Cardinals and if that's the case, the New Year's Six matchups change considerably.

Whether people care or not is irrelevant. The game does count whether people like it or not. Also, you don't play these teams very often and definitely don't want to lose to a team you aren't going to see for a long time or maybe never ever again.
