NCAA D3 National Tournament Cancelled

 
Very disappointing.

Wrestling had the highest participation rate of any sport. That's ironic in a way, but shows how fear has gripped so many.
 
Too many D3 schools taking the easy way out now by sitting out and saving $...I'm afraid they will pay more in the long-term as kids will transfer to much cheaper schools that actual wrestle their Championships (such as NAIA, NCWA). Could we see more D3 schools drop their programs?
 
So frustrating when decisions are made that negatively effects the athletes and schools who WANT to compete by the DIII committee who looks only at the schools who do not. Makes no sense whatsoever. If they don't want to participate then they don't have to. What about the 62% who DO? These kids have been working so hard only to be shut down by schools who have chosen not to participate. It's not right. What it IS, is easy.
 
Nothing shocks about the NCAA anymore. Bottom line the NCAA is a "non profit" organization that earns over a $ billion annually to oversee 40 intercollegiate sports 38 of which are expendable and the only two profitable ones - Football & Basketball- are basically professional minor leagues. All the other so called "non revenue" sports would be better served under another organization.

Just to educate, the 62% participation rate actually is a measure of the proportion of schools that were having seasons in 20-21 out of how many total schools that sponsor the sport in a normal year.
