I have to visit a dying friend....

Not carrying my burden
F-that, I'm wingeing the whole way. If we ain't complaining, we ain't having fun.

Comfort:
What happens when you're not alive, didn't worry about it before I was born, why worry about it after I die. Got that from a cheap move.

The Dying and the Dead.
A friend like a brother was in the hospice. Sudden cancer, he was the only smoker in the bunch. Two months from diagnosis. All called when time got near. He was comatose, curled and distorted like we've all seen. Everyone talked as if we were all at the boat club, telling stories. I told one of when we were kids and hiked over the ice to an island to camp. Suddenly the distorted, comatose body yells, FUN!!!!. We all looked, went on as before. We soon left. I was told that was the last word out of his mouth.

After the cremation, the ashes were formed into a boat. We took it out to the Bay, three boats of us circled until he sank.

ALWAYS go see the friend off.
