Fairfield Div I Rankings

I wrestled him at edgewood this summer if you can stay away from his headlocks that's all he has I teched him in second period. Don't get me wrong this was preseason and he can catch anyone with that thing, but now that he is on the map and has a target on his back I don't see a state title run.

I saw that match it was no contest there will be kids like Eddie who will not get caught in a head and arm .

Eveybody at state knew "all" Stevens has is a head and arm. Dont you think all 5 kids he beat said "he aint getting me with that"?

Why is Creek even in this discusion? Dont they go to Darby?

BTW Stevens is 125

You know what weight he's going, but you don't know that they get to choose their district... sounds a little fishy to me.

I think you have forgot some serious noise makers. Not much love for the Dayton boys?

112 Brahnam
125 Nick Bloch
130 Denlinger
140 Thoman
152 Bryant (possible state champ)
171 Estes
171 Newburg
189 Connors
189 Carmen

Yea, sorry about that. Not too much information to go on for many of the Dayton boys, so I was relying on District results last year, Bucksman rankings, my own knowledge and some other opinions of better kids to complete an "educated guess" rankings. I thought lots of opinions would come out and they sure did.

After the first week of the season, I will take another more educated attempt AND I invite any and all that follow D1 Fairfield District to do the same.

If anyone knows for sure which schools from Dayton go where, please share it. this always confuses me as it seems different every year (a draw?). Anyway thanks for commenting all and keep the thread going....

Only recognize a few names here....could you give first last school grade and why they should be on the list? that would inform us all mo' better. Which are you sure will go to Fairfield as well please. Thanks

couple of guys you all are looking over at 112 or 119 is Justin Kihn of Kettering and Marcus Windsor from Wayne. Both have a shot to get out

OK, be specific. I had marcus on top 7 for 112, but his district didnt go that well and he is unknown to me. Kihn is off my radar. Why should they be on a top 5 list? If they belong, all righty then. I will await your reply.

Kyle Rose, Centerville

I have not heard a definitive answer on whether Kyle Rose will compete this season or not. I heard he got a football scholarship (good for him) and may not wrestle this season.

Who knows the truth? If he is out, Nick Nueskable definitely moves up to top dog. Agreed?

Dan here is my reasoning on the kids I mentioned and some others who belong

112 Marcus Windsor-Wayne(11) 4th @ districts (Carr Trained)

112 Justin Kihn-Fairmont(11) had tough losses at districts including 7-5 loss to Windsor

130 Matt Denlinger-Fairmont(10) 5th @ Districts

160 Tommy Kimbrell-Fairmont(11) 6th@ Districts (Carr Trained)

171 Christian Estes-Lakota West(11) has been sidetracked and if eligible will be an impact wrestler

171 Jonah Newburg-Northmont(11) AA in Fargo

189 Garrett Conner-Fairmont(10) Freshman National Champion (Carr Trained)

The boys Carr have been working with in the off season are going to shock alot of coaches in the area. Windsor,Conner,Kimbrell,Murdoch,Korb,Gresham and Wheeler are just a few that have spent time with him.

Fantastic, I will bake that into the rankings. Will look to see where some are after this weekend and next, they should bubble to the top. Creds look good.
thanks

A couple of notes that I have heard...

Mendal certified at 112, so 103 is out.
Noble hasn't certified at 103 yet, and it may be because its too much of a cut.
Luria will be a huge 112 and tough to contend with
Brahnam is from Miamisburg. Another huge 112.
Selmon told my boys he's going 125. Not sure if that is true or not.
Nick Bloch is from Lakota West and very tough.
I think Artrip beats Stevens if he is ACTUALLY wrestling, however...
I heard Day was going back to 125
152 is a bear. Bryant is a man.
Knabe in front of Walker, Estes, or Newburg will never happen
Heard Conner may go 215 from his old man. If not he should be in front of both Freshman.

I think I also read that the younger Sams was heading to 135.
Question is where is Nayer going then?

I think this Fairfield team has something to show the area. I look for them to get on a roll late in the season.

--fay of harrison will be 103... mark it, guaranteed... and he'll be very solid there as well. only weighed in high 80's last season.

--selmon will be 125 as mentioned in previous post, dude got big

--dont' be so quick to assume that korb isn't at 171. a lot probably rides on where that guy from copley goes

I know Jake Neyer (Fairfield) didn't impress last year but he will definitely be in your top 6 by years end. And I don't think anyone has worked as hard as Vinnie Bradberry has this off-season. He has to be the number 1 seed at 160. Based on what I've heard, you should take Bloch and Sams out of the 125 bracket and replace them with Day and Selmon. You also need to think about Jacob Clouse (Lakota) at 125. Wow! That may be the most competitive bracket. Too bad Stephen Meyer is at Reading.

Piqua

they do a draw to decide on going to either fairfield or darby just like other dayton schools like miamisburg, springboro, troy, etc.

Piqua will go where we feel is the best route for the team. We have gone to both.

135/140- Tyler Chambers (10) DQ @ 145 (2-2) 2x JH St. Pl.
145- Dominick Magoteaux (12) DQ @ 140 (1-2)
152/160- Kyle Bryant (12) 2x SQ @ 152 5th in '10
160/171- Brandon Pummill (11) DQ @ 160

Unfortunately working hard doesn't make you the best wrestler. We will have to see if it translates into success. I have heard his brother is helping out with West this year (but can’t confirm this) which should add a boost for him and Estes.

Neyer is a tough wrestler, but I think weight selection will be the issue in his case. I think the whole Fairfield team will surprise people as they don’t have a ton of big guns (Day,Sams,Sams) but they do have a lot of the complimentary guys ( Dixon, Neyer, etc.).
