Only until Yost retires (God only knows when that will be!) then Vaughn is coming home to Ellet (just ask him :thumb: ). It will be complete meltdown in Sparta but they'll live.

the o-line was terrible? dont know how because nobody seemed to get through? barberton would blitz a linebacker every time. it hard to block a linemen then try and get a linebacker coming in. as for d-rich. yes he was good. male will be just as good. devin smith. ellet didnt have them last year anyway. keep up with the time.
size has no matter. every kid except for one is benching at least 240. 1 is doing 270. another is doing 290. and another which is the lightest o linemen is doing 300. just because you dont weigh 280 doesnt mean there isnt size.
ellet will take second. i dot know how you get 4th or 5th.
kenmore north east garfield are wins. do you not recall that the gulleys are gone? that was the team of garfield. firestone may be a challenge. MAYBE. and buchtel. well. 7th in the state compared to 347th in the state. do the math. and small. but not weak. and slow...hm. i guess this guy doesnt watch our backs or recievers to much. just seems like he like to run his mouth. this is a thread to talk about teams. not to rant all you want on it.
idk when yost will retire. but to be honest. i think once dylan matthews graduates their time will be up. people say one kid doesnt make a team. this kid makes up 3/4 of it if u ask me.

Hate to burst your bubble, but there is NO WAY you are beating Garfield.
That has got to be one of the weakest come backs I have every heard. We have soph's that have those bench numbers and most of them weigh under 170 lbs. Not to mention most of the upperclassmen's numbers.
You'll be lucky to beat Garfield and you'll get beat by Buchtel and Firestone.
Believe me, I want you to win, just gives us more Harbin's.
0-3 again, ellet will be lucky to win 3 this year. the program gets a little worse every year, granted 45 9th graders is a great turnout. how many will be around in 4 yrs? change needs to happen soon at the top or we will soon be a kenmore or north type program. i feel sorry for the kids who do stay and work hard. coach yost has had his time, need someone from outside of the program to run the show.
garfield is just as bad as ellet this year. the gulleys made that team. now that they are gone. there is no chance. sorry to burst YOUR bubble.
firestone has nobody but tommy brown. and he is only going offense this year. and as for the benching thing. we are division 2. every school has shrunk in size. and if u have sophomores. under 170 doing 300. then u should probably be going to states. i somehow doubt this. and what do you mean by the upperclassmens numbers?
3 games. cmon. thats a little outrageous. wel be 6-4 or 5-5. the freshmen group is a monster group this year. the line is huge. the backs are big and fast. i will agree though. yost has had his time. and his politics are getting a little out of hand. and as for the wins
east. youngstown east. north. kenmore. see. theres 4 right there. garfield and firestone are debatable. buchtel. from what ive heard. a lot of copley starters went to buchtel. and supposedly has been the fastest team theyve had in like 50 years or something. but like the rest of the city but ellet. 1-2 is their record.
Read my quote again, I didn't say any soph had a 300 bench, they do however bench over 230 and weight around 170. And just a heads up, this isn't a weightlifting comp on the football field. Being strong is only one part of being a good football team.
enigma.i appreciate your spirit, i have been a fan since 1970, went to ellet played at ellet, i have seen garfield and buchtel play this year. i have also seen ellet play 2 times, i can only comment on what i have seen thus far, you have no defense, have only scored 14 points in 3 games. i would love for you to beat buchtel and garfield and even firestone for that matter, its not happening. dont know much about youngstown east, should beat the bottom 3. im not trying to bash you guys, i wish you nothing but the best, but if theres not a big turn around quickly 3 games will be it. ps i now live in wooster, they are not really this good, ashland comes in friday, it will be a major beatdown for the generals again this year. they will finish 5-5
i will admit. our defense is way out of wack. firestone will be a win. again. just tommy brown. garfield. the gulleys are gone. it just comes down to it. yost needs to take his turn to leave.. 1970 plays dont work anymore

That was a tough way to lose, Youngstown East is terrible too!
well. this is a little late but ended up beatin them.
ok. im not a person who will cry about a loss. but to be dead honest. the refs were horrible. horsecollars werent called. and the final extra point for them was no good. they were easily 2 feet away from it. but the kid got up. set the ball in the endzone. and they called it good. film shows it.
I heard that the Y-East game was called a git tricky also, but I still have to say that this was a very bad Ellet team last year, and they beat a very underacheiving Garfield team that had a bunch of kids that seemed to always be looking for Toneo Gulley to return to lead them.

Just pointing out how the post had us(East) as an easy victory. Seeing you guys on TV I figured this was a toss up. I won't comment on the ref thing because the losing team always looks at calls after the fact.( I do it too). And I will agree,, neither team is exactly playoff ready! Hope to make it to Akron next year for the rematch
