Alter played a terrible Fairmont team, 0 D2 teams, and a few decent D3 teams losing to two of them. They weren't tested in the playoffs. They would have been running clocked by Perkins and IMO they would have lost to Canton South.
"Terrible" Fairmont beat Springfield this year.

That is a loophole. Key phrase is "play for Glenville". The other kids who live in the Glenville zone and attend GA but don't play aren't counted -- nor are the hundreds who live in the Glenville district but attend other schools and have not received athletic exemptions. It's as if they don't exist.
In the school district you support, do they count kids in their enrollment that don't attend?

The whole point of my earlier post is to show how two completely different teams created a path to dominance. IMO, ML did it the right way. Completely in line with the spirit of the rules. Glenville on the other hand has went a totally different and opposite route. They use loopholes in the rules to bring in and groom players. They also use these holes to claim enrollment. Their coach plays both sides. He claims to saving lives and produce great young men. I believe him. He probably is doing just that. However he only does this to benefit him and his team. I’d like to see what’s happening to others in Glenville that don’t play football for him.

I Changed my profile pick!!! Just to let you folks know!!! I used a lot of the comments on yappi to motivate my Team!!! All the negative and hateful comments fueled our drive!! I enjoyed quoting you guys!!! #Back2Back
And I’m sure there was enough bulletin board stuff to motivate anybody. There is a phenom in this country where long term, consistent winners bring out the haters in mass numbers. I think it started with the Oakland Raiders šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

It's not exclusive to Glenville, but most schools have a handful of kids who could but don't and aren't counted. Glenville has hundreds.

What's the difference between a kid who sits all day in building A and a kid who sits all day in building B when the only school that either can play for is building A?

The difference is that schools that abide by the rules of Div 4 have about 240-250 boys in their school to try to get out for football. Ginville has a little over 500 boys to try and get to play football. It’s simple probability when it comes to finding better talent. Ginville chooses from twice the enrollment therefore has twice the talent. Doesn’t take a diploma from Ginn academy to figure that out.

Alter played a good Fairmont team (should have won but for 2 turnovers lost by 3 points) which beat 3 time state runner up D1 Springfield. We will never truely know as they did not meet on the field. Perkins did not play a D1 or D2 team. Every team has their warts. You obviously can believe whatever you want. Good luck next year. Congrats to Glenville state champs

Not believing anything just giving my opinion.

How do you know this information?

They would have been blew out by Springfield in the playoffs. That's not a good measuring stick.

Let’s not mix up your term
Of ā€œpath to dominanceā€. Not only glenville, but the rest of Ohio is chasing the kind of dominance that ML is currently in. I doubt there will ever be another school to win 14 FOURTEEN titles in 20 years.
