Democrat Cities' Violent news (#4?)

Yes heyjackass sounds like the best source.
It's a great source and much better then the crap you have linked to. But hey I'm all ears as to what data do they present that you think is wrong and what methods of data display do they use that you think are misleading? Here's one of my favorite:

It’s not a credible source at all. You didn’t even fact check.
A lot of MSM have tried to discredit Hey Jackass crime stats and have failed to do so. Here's where they get their data:

*Source Data & Editor’s Note

We compile our own dataset using the following sources: Chicago Tribune, Chicago Sun-Times, Homicide Watch Chicago (no longer updated), DNAInfo Chicago (out of business), Chicago Redeye Homicide Tracker (long gone), NBC5 Chicago, Chicago Tribune’s Shooting Tracker (no longer updated) & Homicide Tracker (declared dead), Sun-Times Homicide Tracker, Cook County Medical Examiner, CPD’s Historical Data Set, City of Chicago Data Portal, Chicago Police Department Arrest Record Search, CPD CLEARMAP, Various CPD Dashboards, ISP Expressway Shooting Dashboard, CPD’s Media Major Incident Notifications and the needlessly woke Chicago Violence Reduction Dashboard.

Community areas and neighborhoods are determined by Crimeisdown.com’s most excellent Incident Map or the Chicago Tribune’s Boundaries App.

Editor’s note: All murders are homicides, but not all homicides are murders. We count homicides, whereas the CPD counts murders. A homicide, or a non-fatal shooting, regardless of type or by whom, within the city limits of Chicago counts towards our total metric, including anything on the expressways. CPD-involved, ISP-involved and justifiable homicides all count. Reckless homicides may count if the Medical Examiner rules that the cause of death was a homicide. Suicides do not count. Additional definitions can be found on the Glossary page.

It would not pass the smell test for a research paper. When in doubt, throw it out.

Dem NJ Mayor: We Turned Away Migrant Bus Because It’s ‘Major Security Risk’ — Don’t Know If They’re Armed

While speaking to New York ABC affiliate WABC on Monday, Edison, New Jersey Mayor Sam Joshi (D) stated that he turned a bus full of migrants sent to the city back because local police “did not know if any of those 40 individuals were carrying weapons, they couldn’t be identified.” And this is “a major security risk. It’s a health risk. And we’re just not going to tolerate that.” Joshi, who plans to send migrants back to the border, also stated that he doesn’t want to pawn problems off on other mayors.

WABC New Jersey Reporter Toni Yates stated, “The town of Edison, however, has its own answer: A charter bus to send migrants back to the southern border. The bus that arrived the other night was simply ordered to leave.”

She then played a clip of Joshi saying, “Edison Township Police officers did not know if any of those 40 individuals were carrying weapons, they couldn’t be identified. And that is a major problem. That’s a major security risk. It’s a health risk. And we’re just not going to tolerate that.”

Using national numbers to track the horror of violent crime is useless as violent crime is not distributed uniformly across the United States. Even tracking it by city is dumb as again violent crime is not evenly distributed there.

This is another example of the poor quality of your sources. In fact the quality is so bad I'm thinking that something like this is really propaganda designed by a MSM outlet to help democrats & Biden deflect from American's legitimate concern about violent crime.
It's called big picture. You use National numbers for National things. You use local numbers for local things. You guys are generalizing crime and culture and pointing to cities. You aren't being specific to neighborhoods. No one is denying there are problems, but the stats clearly show that in the big picture things are getting much better. It's not at all a poor quality source. You claim democrats and Biden don't take violent crime seriously. That is propaganda. Is violent crime down overall in the US from decades and years past? Is there a violence problem in both Urban and Rural America?

When conservatives say Chicago is a violent city, I will expect that they be more specific and narrow that down to specific streets in specific zip codes. Just saying Chicago is poor quality geography.

Specifically speaking of course. What dressing do you like on your word salad?

No it's not called the "Big Picture" it's called hiding the root causes by washing out local effects in a tsunami of national data.

The NUMBER ONE rule for determining whether a large number of events like national homicides can be extrapolated to reflect what's going on in smaller societal settings is whether or not the events are equally distributed within the large data set. Clearly homicide and almost every type of violent crime is far from evenly distributed. It is highly clustered within much smaller geographical & demographic subsets.

Have you ever considered that the reason overall homicides are down is because the areas of low violent crime have seen the greatest reductions? Or that since homicide & violent crime overwhelmingly occur in the under 40 demographic our aging population is the primary reason for the drop? Maybe concealed carry and other relaxing of the gun laws is contributing to a reduction in violent crime?

And is violent crime dropping among the demographics & localities where it has always been higher? Or are these poor people still suffering because folks like you are are patting themselves on the back for a reduction in NATIONAL murder rates?

This is exactly what "Jackass" does in its reporting on Chicago's violent crime. Now drill down in those neighborhoods to determine what are the factors contributing to the abnormally high number of murders & violent crime.

And you're an expert on writing & reviewing research papers?

I am interested in hearing from you what "Jackass" is doing that you think is incorrect? Are they mishandling the stats or is their presentation of the data misleading?
Did you fact check them?

Did you fact check them?
What is with you people and "fact checking"? Who does your fact checking? Do you trust them? Are they always correct?

Jackass has been around for a long time and has been the target of leftists who have wanted nothing more then to catch the site lying or misrepresenting the data or just getting the data wrong. So far they haven't laid a glove on the site. My fact checking is that Jackass has been very transparent on where they source their data and how they interpret it.
