D6 or D7 next season? In all seriousness - felt like Dalton was having a little success and moving the ball down 14-0, then bang, 80 yard pick-six. Ballgame. Best part of the game - Hignight INT with the club on his arm. The game was decided by then but still a great moment for the kid.
All-time great season for the Bulldawgs, congrats to everyone around the program. Will take a step back next year losing so many seniors, but still plenty of talent in the well. Tough game against Kirtland to start, don't know a thing about Marengo Highland, and another tough, winnable game against Moggy. Will compete for, and IMO be the favorite to win the WCAL again next year and will be a regional contender, maybe even favorite again.
Go Dawgs!
I will say D7. There are only around 30 boys in the sophomore class and the redo the base number of boys grade 9 to 11 this year.D6 or D7 next season?
I also believe D7 - don't know of any transfers in that would mess with the number either. Should be D7I will say D7. There are only around 30 boys in the sophomore class and the redo the base number of boys grade 9 to 11 this year.
If Dalton stays D7, I agree with your assessment on your previous post. They lose quite a bit with the graduating seniors, but have enough talent coming back to compete for the league and R25 championships.I also believe D7 - don't know of any transfers in that would mess with the number either. Should be D7
Nice work Dock! and thanks again Hoist for the time well spent.
Here, Here! Over the years a LOT of "too close" folks have showed up on this site, but Mr. @BobBBaulzack comported himself as a genuine great dude throughout.Hopefully @BobBBaulzack comes back. Didn’t realize he was that close to the team…and let that be a lesson in homer-ing with a sense of humor and self. Even the youngster @trimblefootball was a fantastic sport and you really can’t get closer to the game than that…
Hope @The Dock enjoys his playoff title, but more importantly finds the time to stay up with us. (And keep writing.)
Good season, Peter!Nice work Dock! and thanks again Hoist for the time well spent.
I'm hoping to be around the sport for many, many more years. One goal is to be head coach of a program sometime in the future.Hopefully @BobBBaulzack comes back. That's fantastic. let me provide some advice that is worth what it costs (ie - nothing)I'm hoping to be around the sport for many, many more years. One goal is to be head coach of a program sometime in the future.
Oh snap....In other news, some info formerly related to D7 R25, D3 Canfield head coach Pavlansky steps down, just so happens a former D7 R25 coach has some strong ties to Canfield. Any insight from the locals?
I wouldn't be surprised if Canfield were to look to a current D7R25 coach (Sean Guerriero) if they don't hire within. The Canfield job- given the community, talent, success in the last 20 years etc is probably the best job in the Youngstown area? I'd imagine there would be a long line of solid coaches wanting that job.In other news, some info formerly related to D7 R25, D3 Canfield head coach Pavlansky steps down, just so happens a former D7 R25 coach has some strong ties to Canfield. I know that this is a R25 thread, but congratulations to Coach Pavlansky after such a great career! With all of the smaller/successful programs in Mahoning County, could any of them end up taking over? The three teams that tied for the MVAC title are all relatively close by in Guerriero, Armeni, and Mamula. Does Cooper leave West Branch?I wouldn't be surprised if Canfield were to look to a current D7R25 coach (Sean Guerriero) if they don't hire within. Thus begins hot stove season. Canfield has to be one of the better coaching vacancies to open in the valley in the past couple of years. This may cause a ripple effect that will impact some region 25 teams from the Mahoning Valley. Interested to see what other changes impact the programs of Region 25. We saw how fast a team can fall from grace with JFK this past offseason. In other news, some info formerly related to D7 R25, D3 Canfield head coach Pavlansky steps down, just so happens a former D7 R25 coach has some strong ties to Canfield. I’d think former Canfield player and current JFK Head Coach Beunte will be firmly in the mix
Congratulations to Coach Pav what a great career
Really a great guy who takes building culture and creating a team to a whole new level. Congrats on a great career, and best of luck in whatever is next.Congratulations to Coach Pav what a great career
My prediction: A Spitler disciple will take his place. I'm thinking of one guy in particular. My first outlandish prediction for next year is Lucas is closer to this past season's JFK than they are to Coach Prologo's JFK.
I think the top 4 teams in the region next year are the same as this year. In no order: St. Paul, Lucas, Danville, Dalton. All four teams lose quite a bit this year - all four teams have plenty of talent in the cupboard and will be back. Our cupboard is not bare. We'll be just fine. Coach Spitler left us in a good place. IMO,
he permanently changed the culture.
As far opinions and predictions ... to each their own.
Lowellville is going to be down. I was one of the few last year that was saying Lowellville wouldn't fall off a cliff after 2022, but that is not the case after this year. They lose the QB Ballone, their best weapon #11 Dabney, their best running back #20, best WR #7 along with their 2 best linemen.I think the top 4 teams in the region next year are the same as this year. I'm totally off the Springfield train - they're not good, and never going anywhere with whatever that offense was this year. Lowellville and Malvern are the other 2 teams that could make some noise (is the QB at Lowellville a senior this year? was he a younger Ballone?)
Who do you think is taking over at Lucas? I know you have some insight. DM is good. I'm genuinely curious and will keep it between us.Really a great guy who takes building culture and creating a team to a whole new level. Congrats on a great career, and best of luck in whatever is next.
I wanted to make a joke about this being your heart monitor when you were taken out of Saturday's game by the EMS squad, but then realized that would be in poor taste and probably too soon... ; )
Also, you deserve KUDOS. You got a wee bit riled up in the last few days leading up to the game, but never crossed any lines. There's jabronis out there claiming schools should get moved up a division every time they win a ring and down if they lose.
