Most wins yes. Most titles ancient history. No ohsaa on field titles in 51 years has to be a reason why in 51 years no title. Oh yeah they stopped voting and took it to the field. Massillon’s worst nightmare can’t win it on the field. See ya next year. Hahahaha
So let me get this straight, Massillon beats Ed's by 3. Ed's beats Hoban by 21. Massillon gets beat by Hoban by 21. Yet Massillon is at a disadvantage because they don't have the recruiting advantage like the Hoban and LaSalle's do of this world? Give me a break..the last 6 years the tigers have been loaded and have fielded just about everyone of their teams with equal or greater talent then the opposition. For whatever reason they cant seem to get over the hump when it matters the most. Feel the tigers best chance to win a state title was against LaSalle. The Lancers made the neccessary adjustments at half and the tiger staff didn't change a thing!! I will say one thing I think coach Moore is a great recruiter and his players play extremely hard!!

Correct. It’s so refreshing to watch MAC schools, and the like, win with home grown talent and superior coaching. And that’s why the whole state cheers when the Hilliard Davidson’s or Pic Central’s etc… win an occasional big school title.
What sours so many on the tiger program is their desire to win compels them to “attract” so many players from outside the district. There’s no argument that you need players to stay relevant on a consistent basis. The parochial’s are proof of that. And the tigers play that game better than any other public school.
Massillon has the most storied football program in Ohio and one of the best in the country. It just makes you feel bad for the kid born with the football in his bassinet and busts his butt coming up through the ranks, only to be displaced by a van load of ringers from Beachwood.
If it were possible for the tigers to bring in a Tim Goodwin or Tiger LaVerde type coach to nurture the program from the inside out…versus a Moore or Shepas outside in approach, I believe they’d get a lot more respect. But I’m not sure that’s possible in that environment.
I believe Big Red dumped Massillon on their heads the last time they played...running clock style.

The hand-wringing and complaining about Hoban's roster, and the "way they do things", has become quite the lazy, annual fall tradition, with 99.9% of it from people who have no knowledge of either. Every OH high school program that's consistently successful needs kids that can play, obviously, but the elite coaching and player development is the most determining factor in what they've done since 2015. Every private school that chooses to invest in football has talent, but Eds and Hoban are really the only two that haven't had noticeable dips in consistency the last 8-10 years. Iggy has come down a notch; Moeller had a long stretch where they couldn't figure it out until recently, but lost to a public in the FF again on Friday night; Lasalle went 2-9 this year, 10-15 the last 3 years; TCC has continued to win a lot of games, and is back in the finals for the first time since 2015, but has lost to publics many times in the playoffs in recent years; STVM has been down until this year; Walsh has finally gotten their program going again, but got bombed by a public in the playoffs this year; the other D1 privates in Cincy have had their inconsistencies, too. I don't pretend to know a lot about all these other private schools, my point is that the job Tyrrell and his staff do almost gets completely lost in all the noise that seems to be unique to Hoban in a lot of ways, because so many people still seem unable to accept the fact that they've built a good football program.

Speak to the FACTS, Moore just started putting together his program. The national championship is NOW solely the realm of the NATIONAL all-star teams and Hoban is further away from being competitive with them, than we are from winning a state championship.
Probably one of premier all-star team coaches of all-time, is a prime example of their place as a coach and his ilk. When Gerry Faust DIDN"T have an overwhelming advantage because of talent and was being beat soundly, at his first game at Notre Dame, the announcers were heard to say, "He's running a HS offense." You know where he ended up and the accurate assessment of his ability, don't you?!
Nick Saban yearly has the top recruiting class in the country and very seldom isn't in the finals of the playoffs.
The praochial / private all-star teams are light yrs. ahead of public who know better than to NOT buy into the stupidity, that people like you, try to sell, when we are evening the playing field. Their multi-state / county teams, number of players from outside a traditional school district don't count but ours tarnishes our 24 state and 9 national championships! NOT!
Why don't you try to sell that same garbage about Rockne, Wilkinson, Bryant and Hayes, FOOL.
Our tradition is legitimate as is our titles and records.

As much as they like to educate us on history, they conveniently forget a lot of it.
I guess that cancels out Moeller initially drawing players from 3 states and multi- counties. As well as St. Ignatius drawing players from 7 counties and 55 feeder schools!!
