It really shouldn't. The finances and circumstances between the two are totally different. About the only thing they have in common is they are playing the same sport
And I totally agree!! However, decisions surrounding COVID are being made based on public perception and the reaction of the fear-mongering masses. I have always been of the belief that high school football can safely be played this season. Deep down, I believe this is the belief of the vast majority of school administrators. But most aren't going to be willing to follow through with their beliefs, not now, not with everything else shutting down. Football is cancelled, and 100 students from your school get COVID through outside sources, and you as an administrator are off the hook. Continue with football and just one player comes down with COVID and spreads it to maybe three or four teammates...........Now you have opened yourself up to a ton of backlash, even if it is not deserved.
