2025 Three Rivers Conference.

I believe that was an argument that made much more sense 10-20 years ago. Today, with all the open enrollment, kids switch as readily from public to public as they do public to private. The coach at any given school is likely a drawing card or repelling. TC applied to the CCC 10-15 years back when Huelsman was at Newton. Both Bethel and Newton wanted nothing to do with Troy Christian in the CCC at that time. I think both would accept them now.
I’m not sure Bob Huelsman, if that’s the Huelsman you’re referring to, would duck anyone. Covington is a shell of what it was under him. Bethel has really always been an underachiever. Outside of girls basketball, boys basketball…they have always been just ok. SCC and Lehman are pretty equal to both schools, really. Lehman and SCC were a sticking point when the SRC folded. Never understood that. Lehman had a great football coach and SCC was good in basketball.

Yes, I am referring to Bob. When he got to Newton as AD he would not allow them to play private schools that were close geographically, not because he was afraid of losing a game, he was afraid of losing players from Newton to the private schools. It did not help that aling about 2007 or 2008 the son of a legend of Newton basketball left Newton in middle school to play for Troy Christian. After not getting near the playing time he expected and Troy Christian was getting a new varsity coach for a program that had gotten majorly out of control discipline wise, the Newton kid went back to his home school and Newton put Troy Christian on their schedule.

I believe those petty days are behind us.

Milton has lost a lot to TC over the years, even CJ has taken a few as well. It’s something that will never go away. I don’t remember Huelsman leaving Covington for Newton. Learn something new everyday

I am trying to think of who Milton lost to CJ. I know back in my days there was a Milton guy who went to CJ. Mom told me about him. Don't know his name. Never had him in Catechism classes at Transfiguration, because he got them at CJ. Transfiguration back in the day never pushed anybody to CJ. Those were diehard Bulldog and Thunderbolt fans. I dreaded going to Catechism on Saturday morning when Northmont won.

I am assuming a Catholic catechism and not a Lutheran one as there are 95 reasons why not...or as my mom used to say, Lutherans are the same as Catholics, without the guilt. Just a friendly Holy Week post.

I wonder if the TRC is in full panic mode now. Replacing 1 school was challenging enough it seemed. Replacing 2 schools is going to seem impossible for them. I think they will be a 6 team league for the foreseeable future.

As for if Miami East or Riverisde got in, I’m not sure… but Miami East will prob offer more in regards to athletics and is overall better travel for everyone. I really think it’s most likely them that got the edge.

This is terrible for the TRC. Who do they invite that’s not already turned them down? Sad for these schools. 6 team league might see teams playing twice? Wow

Really? Seems it was shared to all Christians in the Gospels of Matthew, Mark and Luke...Though 2nd Peter, the "1st Pope" alludes to it. But Okay. This miracle is a basis of both the Catholic and Protestant tenants of a Triune God.
May have meant transubstantiation.

I don’t know if they have anyone else they can invite. It’s a tough situation. I see it being a 6 team league until schools can get in elsewhere.. I think the schools in the worst situation will be the privates and Riverside (if they didn’t get into the OHC). Everyone else has good options

Pretty much how I see it. Let's assume East was the team that anticipates an invite. That means two of the four large schools that make up the TRC will have moved on. Milton has options. Not certain Northridge has many. Covington will likely find it's way back to the WOAC. That would leave 3 small schools and Northridge. The Metro Buckeye might take TC, Lehman and Riverside, but Northridge is a very different school to those in terms of size.

I haven't heard the rumor for a while, but when the Bethel stuff broke, it was said multiple times that Northridge was putting together an agreement to join the Dayton City League. Maybe with the talks of Trtotwood doing the same ended the talks with Northridge?

expect it to be leaked soon that a TRC team received an OHC invite. not sure which one. i’ve heard absolutely nothing other than that a decision was made.
Like A Boss Ship GIF

I don't think the WOAC would, yet they took Preble Shawnee which is pretty similar .

The TRC will be comprised of schools who have few other options.
The TRC is going to be full of schools who are looking to jump ship if they have the opportunity. Should make for an interesting couple of years in the TRC.

It might’ve, but I doubt it. The Dayton City League does have 6 football schools now (Stivers is bringing football back, Trotwood will NOT be playing a DPS schedule, they will be a football independent, DPS all other sports). But for a league like the Dayton City League I kind of feel like ‘the more, the better’ sort of applies. I don’t think they would really turn away a school who is interested in joining that fits perfectly, it makes filling their schedules much easier in all sports that the extra open week in football is worth it.

But Northridge from what I’m gathering is actually the ones not wanting to join the league. I know the city league isn’t perfect, but it’s literally a perfect fit for them, and if the TRC does fold (which is most definitely on the table), it is way better than being independent.

What options does Milton have? I don't see the WOAC taking them, the SWBL probably is not interested (although personally I like them in the SWBL).
If Miami East was not the one selected, then I could see Milton, Miami East, Northridge make their case to the SWBL. I think if you put Carlisle, Madison and Dayton Christian with those 3, and then add Greenville with Oakwood, Brookville, Eaton, Valley View and Waynesville, then you have a great Big/Medium/Small three division SWBL. Will it happen? Probably not. But I’m a fan of the idea.

I think Carlisle and Madison would love that idea. Not sure how Waynesville, Eaton, Brookville, Oakwood and VV would feel about it.

Milton-independent
Covington-WOAC
Northridge-DCL
Lehman-NWCC
TC-Metro Buckeye
East-CBC
Riverside-OHC

This is my opinion. I sure hope I’m wrong about MU. Being independent could really sink Milton’s ship in some sports.
Too bad they couldn’t get FL to join. Milton has a new AD and this makes his job really tough.
Maybe Northmont could throw some overflow to us and we join the MVL. 😂😂💀

TC would then be independent in football as well. Milton could join the metro buckeye league as well to at least have an affiliation for other sports.
