there is apparently a reason river dropped ferry to begin with. they had a 2-year contract and river wanted out. they used to play all the time for awhile when river could beat or compete with them . there were some very good games between them especially down at river.

maybe it has to do with what is coming up through the lower grades. ferry seems to have some very good classes coming up. although what that means at the varsity level remains to be seen.

i do agree though that they should play instead ferry is looking at a week one open dat o

it doesn't make sense since the 2 head coaches are friends or at least they were.

I do not think Ferry and River should play. Two programs going in opposite directions in the near future. Ferry is on a big upswing, which is why I do not understand why they keep softening their schedule. They want to play the D7’s and the Brownsville’s and the Independence WV’s instead of challenging themselves. There were D5 and D6 teams in Ohio it seems they passed on in favor of an “easier” schedule. One of which is in Belmont County. This team should be loaded for the next few years. Going 9-1 or 10-0 with their D7 heavy schedule is what they are going for apparently. I think a tougher schedule, going 6-4 or 7-3, and winning a couple playoff games would be a nice season for this squad as they continue to build back to the prime Dave Bruney years (Don’t think they will ever get back to that, but maybe something close to it.) Hopefully they get back to a point where they at least get St. C and UL back on the schedule and beat St.C consistently like they did in the past.

Also, prior to last season, MF and River last played in 2003, which was the end of a run in which Ferry beat them 10 out of 11 years.

Joshua Neimann, you beat me to it! Whatever they're trying to do down there in Huntington WV ain't gonna work.
