As usual at this time of the year some of these may be filled and others might get added.
I excluded Senate League teams weeks 4-10.
If teams like Crestline, Tuscarawas CC, Vanlue decide to go 8-Man some more teams would join this list.
As of now Riverview East and Hillcrest do not appear to be returning in 2024.

Week 5: It makes to much sense for Cols. DeSales to play Bishop Ready again. Especially after Ready came back from 0-21 to win a 46-45 thriller. Just Sayin

Very few NW Ohio schools on that list. The ones on the list will likely have to schedule a long bus ride unless Delphos Jefferson is willing to take a beat down from Marion Local week 1.

Ursuline vs Struthers, Ursuline vs Niles or even Ursuline vs South Range week 3 all make sense. None of them will happen but should.
You are probably correct sir. For local privates for a variety of reasons, it's a curse.

For the Cats my guesses would be:
Decent bets: Ashtabula Lakeside, Canton South, Edison Local, Holy Name
Possible: Cleveland Villa Angela-St. Joseph, Cleveland Senate League teams, Barberton, Euclid, local PA teams (New Castle, Sharon, etc)
Long shots: Ashland, Mansfield, Painesville Riverside, Ursuline
FWIW, if we had to pick our poison, it’d be the Irish over Mooney any day. Too much bad blood with the Southsiders.

Why does Hoban have almost every week open at this point?
Hoban is in the same situation Eds is in, Iggy used to be in and Moeller still is in, and that is when you win 5 state championships in a row teams will not play you. Hoban the last 5 to 6 years has seen the league they were in dissolve and their chief rival St V drop them. So they play a lot of top out of state teams ,St Eds, St Ignatius etc.

Here are some ideas for matchups (at least on the NEO side)

Week 2:
Riverside/Perry (I believe the two have played in the past, and wouldn't be a far drive for either)
Riverside/Hoban (The Beavers only lost by 21 last season in the playoffs. MAYBE they catch Hoban in a down year?)
Green/Fitch (Same division, different region)

Week 3:
Ursuline/Niles or South Range (Makes a LOT of sense. Wonder why it wouldn't happen though?) If not, they could play Massillon, or even St. Eds (the latter more than likely is about as likely as me being Mr. Football, but stranger things have happened).
BUT, it could be a pretty decent draw if it did happen. If Iggy can make a trip to Mahoning Valley, no reason why Eds can't. Or if Eds wants to host, that wouldn't be bad either.

Ursuline/South Range would be a nice early season matchup. The Raiders have shown they can hang with the big dogs, and this would be no exception.

Week 4:
Fitch/Maple Heights (Two teams that are evenly matched and could meet in the Region 5 postseason)
Iggy/Glenville (The two teams met in the past, and if they could work it out, would be a great area matchup. Maybe this gets played at Byers, John Carroll, or Case?)
St. Ignatius/Austintown Fitch (Would definitely like to see the two schools run it back. Last year's game was a classic and could have gone either way)
Massillon/Eds would be a hot ticket as well. Hopefully the Tigers are willing to make the trip up to Lakewood.

Maybe not super likely, but Glenville/Steubenville?

Week 5:
Hoban/St. Eds
Hoban/Massillon (only possible if one of them moves up a division). If so, this game would be the hottest ticket in town.

Week 7:
Bishop Watterson/University School (Could definitely see this happening, regardless of venue)
Cleveland Heights/Massillon Washington (Also a pretty solid potential matchup)

I'd love to see Marion Local play someone like Watterson (return game from 2019?) or Upper Arlington.

But I'm sure for convenience we'll get a blowout with Jefferson instead.

Steubenville’s schedule should be easy to fill.
Week 4 could be Fitch Perry or Bellaire
Week 8 Cambridge Canfield or Martins Ferry
Week 9 GlenOak Columbus St Charles Mansfield Senior Youngstown East
Week 10 East Liverpool or Elyria Catholic

Week 10 East Liverpool or Elyria Catholic
I can guarantee you Canfield won't schedule Steubenville week 8.
East won't schedule Steubenville week 9 most likely either, only if they are desperate for $$$.
East Liverpool won't schedule Steubenville week 10.
I don't think their schedule will be that easy to fill honestly.
Steubenville likely wants home games, and some of these teams need home games this coming season.
For instance some of the teams you mentioned only have 3 or 4 home games so far.

At least half of those if not all will be out of state teams and home games.

Have a hunch the St Ed will be coming to Tigertown.
