My biggest frustration has nothing to do with the other member of the league, its that Riverside graduates in the 50's now and it will be the 40's soon. Again nobody's fault, but it's frustrating to constantly go against schools so much larger.

For football at least, in the other sports I don't think school size plays as big of a part.

Ansonia has been doing this for years and have played right along with the bigger schools until the half or 3rd and then they kind of break it open. However New Bremen was a quarter of a yard from losing to Ansonia.

Ansonia plays 1 division 5 school, and 5 division 6 school.

Riverside plays 4 Division 5 schools and 2 division 4 schools. They only play 3 school their size and one of those is a private school.

Also NB is the same size as Ansonia, so I’m not sure what you are getting at there. I’m talking about playing schools that graduate over 100 kids a year when Riverside normally graduates 50 or less.

Ansonia graduates 50 or under yearly. They have 185 kids in grades 9-12. I’m not exactly sure what you’re getting at. New Bremen has 400 kids 9-12. That’s over double the size of Ansonia. Riverside has 327 kids 9-12. I’m not exactly sure what you’re getting at here. Ansonia is one of the smallest (and smartest) area schools. Not to mention the fact Ansonia would put away everyone on Riversides schedule, outside maybe Northeastern as I have no clue of anything about them.

I’m getting at the fact that Riverside plays far larger schools than Ansonia does. Which is a fact!! Also when “putting away everyone on Riverside’s schedule” that you are talking about one or 2 years in a bubble, let’s not forget that in the last 10 years that Ansonia has as many losing seasons as they do winning season. Which once again proves my point about playing larger schools, now do that with schools that have close to 1000 kids in the school.

I don’t currently have the time or the energy for a long debate on this subject, so back and find someone else’s post from half a year ago and pick a fight with them.

Schools Riverside has played the past 10 seasons. I don’t see ANY school near 1K people in the HS besides Cincy College Prep. Not to mention outside the MAC schools most of these schools aren’t exactly good at football.

Fun fact, Ansonia has played more schools with over 1K in their HS than Riverside had. Ansonia played Dayton Belmont. Ansonia also played Linden-McKinley which has 838 in their HS. So needless to say, your “facts” are incorrect.

Haha congratulations, glad you spend 2 hours looking those numbers up.

You know those famous Belmont bison or whatever the H they are, blue blood program right there lol

Ps. Bethel has 1766 and Northridge 650. Didn’t take the time to debunk your other numbers, have better things to do.

Not sure where you got that number for troy Christian but they usually only graduate 60 or so each year.

Only took 20 minutes, it was rather easy actually. Cincinnati College Prep is a legendary talent yanno. Matter of the fact is Ansonia has played better football programs.

public school review is a free site

Where are these numbers coming from? Fort Loramie has a lower boys male enrollment number than Ansonia for the football divisions.

There is no way Waynesfield-Goshen has that many kids. They graduate maybe 40 a year. Also pretty sure New Bremen as posted in the MAC forum has a max limit of around 70 a grade allowed due to space in the school.

Did you guy know in the last 10 years Ansonia has played 5 D5 football teams?!??

That 1 more that Riverside is playing just this year!!!! Which once again proves my point, so quit making this about being an Ansonia Homer and accept that Riversid me plays teams much larger than the themselves… which was the whole point I was trying to make before my Tiger fanboy has to come in and make it about him…. And can I also remind everyone that the original post was over half a year ago!

Yet you fail to mention those D5 teams aren’t anything compared to those same teams Ansonia has played in the same span. GoodLuck tomorrow.

Half those D5 were D6 schools in the CCC?? They are the same schools.

The only good team you played most of the last 10 years was Covington. TV has only had a team for a few years, you didn’t play Shawnee. I’m not saying the WOAC or CCC was bad, but to say you are playing a MAC or OHC schedule is a self dilution.

And for the 14th time, I’m talking about the SIZE of the schools!!! Learn to read!

So what will Milton have this year and next? Versailles dropped Celina for Milton starting next year so I’m curious.

New Bremen hasn't ever graduated more than 70 kids outside of a few random classes. 67 last year.

Nothing. Last year was the best team Milton has had since 2012. Versailles will roll. They have Valley View the week after Versailles. Ouch! Would have loved to see the 2021-22 Dogs vs Tigers.

I was hoping Milton would retool next year though at least or perhaps the year after even? If not at the very least I’ll still get a good meal and few brews at Sour Mugs

BEA, I know you're a big fan of the Dogs current HC. I know last year was maybe a decade best team for MU, but I also expect MU to always be competitive in the TRC. How much of a step back are you expecting in 2023? Maybe losses to VV and Riverside?

Milton will win 3-5 games this year. They have fell back to the other TRC team's level. Tonight's game will determine whether it's 3 or 5 wins this year.

I'm interested to see how the game goes. National Trail should be similar to how they've been the past couple seasons, so that'll give us an idea of where MU is at compared to last year. The past couple seasons MU has beaten them pretty bad during week 1.

Yeah, after watching them on tv last week, it’s shocking to see that these kids, with all the playing time they got last year, aren’t better. They were a step slow on every play. I’d say that they drop games against View, Oakwood, Bethel, Lehman and Riverside. Hate to see things drop off this far. Still great coaching but they just don’t have the horses to do anything. No pure athletes like last year. Last year was on the level of 2012 team.
