100+ Albums ....

Elder just dropped a new one called Omens.

Yep, I have already heard it.... The newest one is definitely Prog that is why I called the last one a "transitional" album compared to their older stuff which I would call Stoner Metal/Rock. I gave Omens a 74.450 and Lore 74.930. Dead Roots Stirring is my favorite by them at 79.810. I still have not listened to their debut album.

I was going to listen to Bell Witch but the opening track is about 90 minutes long..... I got 11 minutes into it and I don't think I could make it for the next 80....

I just so happened to listen to Elder's debut a few days ago. Riddle of Steel and Hexe have some killer riffs.

-(16)- - Dream Squasher (2020)

My Ratings: 77.240
Rank: 393 (out of 1814)

Best Song: Sadlands [81.6]

Sludge Metal

Never heard of this band before and that is likely that I steer away from Sludge Metal but I gave it a go and though the first two tracks had a bit of Industrial in them which was to my liking. I'm glad I stumbled onto this band and will be adding this album to my collection and will also be back tracking this group. This one will grow on me with multiple listens.

First time listener to this band. Sound like a cross between Styx and Queen. This was the debut album and they are still going strong with 21 studio albums. How come I have never come across them?

Absolutely love "Barnstorm". Joe Walsh and Barnstorm's second album, "The Smoker You Drink, the Player You Get" is just as good, IMO.

Joe Walsh is an American institution! Back in the day this was a hit or miss type concert, guy could show up ready to rock and put on a great show one day and the other show up trashed and barely able to function; I saw both multiple times.

Similar to Nirvanna.... you just did not know what you were going to get with Kurt when he just didn't give a crap....

This one sounds like it was from the 80's. Debut and only album by this group who since has broken up.... what a shame but the core of the band has formed another band called Midnight Dice.... maybe in the future I can get some more.

Psychonaut - Unfold the God Man (2020)

My Ratings: 83.868
Rank: 92 (out of 1825)

Best Song: Celestial Dictator [93.0]

Post Metal

This was originally a 2018 album before being released so I am not sure if there is a difference in quality/production of the two albums.... if not, then I will put this down as a 2018 album.... enough of that...

This was the debut album from this band and it was amazing. Not sure what Post Metal is but this sounded like a Prog band on steroids that debuted in my top 100 and likely with multiple listens will move up my rankings!!!!

"PSYCHONAUT literally came from out of nowhere --Mechelen, Belgium, to be precise-- but their debut album Unfold The God Man showcases truly world class musicianship and songwriting abilities, heavily influenced by 70’s bands like Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd, but also drawing inspiration from contemporary heavy artists like Tool or Amenra."

Best Song: Darwinian Beasts [79.6]

Experimental Psychedelic Progressive Metal

I thought this band was done with it's Black Metal elements but yet it appeared on the 6th track "The First Ape on New Earth". This is a strange album but then anything Experimental is but man it sounds good.
