How good is Glenville?

D IV still seems a bit small. Glenville and Ginn Academy are two different schools, 3 miles apart. Somehow they only count the enrollment from Glenville, yet most of the roster is at Ginn Academy. Go figure.

Wait, what???

Glenville is VERY good. Scary good if/when playing well.

Glenville won’t get tested till at least week 13 and probably 15. Whoever they play in weeks 15 and 16 will be very capable of beating Glenville. They’re are the D4 favorite, but that doesn’t mean they can’t be beat
Agreed. R14 is going to be a knuckle-buster of a Region. Whoever advances from there to Final 4 will be the most battle tested, but likely also the most bloodied.

Have no skin in this game, but Glenville was one tackle away from beating Ursuline in week 13 last year. Had they won that game not sure that I'd take anyone left in D4 against them for the title. Including Massie.

Not saying they're a shoe-in to win the title in 2022, but let's not act like they have no chance. This is D4 after all. There's no St X, Iggy, Eds, Moeller showing up to crash the party.

Div IV is correct for both Ginn and actual Glenville as Glenville proper is declining in student population rapidly hence the attempted merger with Collinwood a few years back. Ginn is basically hand picked kids throughout CMSD and families in nearby Inner Ring burbs that want their sons to go play for Ginn. Glenville's OL is better than usual this year due to a number of transfers and OL was the area they needed to improve to go further last year. There was an exodus of upperclassmen talent from Euclid last year which greatly benefited the nearby football programs. the biggest questions will be OL and their discipline in tight games.

There won't be any tight games, throw your biggest questions out the window.

Y’all act like the 3rd winningest program with the all time winningest coach in the state of Ohio is not in D4! 😂 keep sleeping though, we’ll wake you up soon enough! RRR

Glenville and Ginn Academy, separately, would be D IV. I think the point is when you combine their enrollments (249 Glenville + 211 Ginn) it is in D II.

Ya know ColdWind, there are two types of people and teams. “Those that are humble AND those about to be humble” That was quote from Coach Sac. Show a little humility. You better hope those young men at Ginn Academy aren’t thinking like you. If they are, they will get humbled.

Only thing that stops Glenville is a conference schedule that allows them to just show up and practice their way to a 50 point win through most of the regular season. Historically this has come back to haunt them in the playoffs, especially in D1. What they got away with in the Senate League came back to bite them when they had to play Solon, Eds, Ignatius, etc.

I have to disagree with this. With your statement Glenville would have never beaten anybody legit in the playoffs. They did go to the finals in D1 and D2, so they won some important games against quality opponents. What I would think would be beneficial to the Tarblooders is schedule an independent week 10 opponent, either VASJ, Fitch, or Big Red. Get the Senate League cobwebs out and since it's a 16 team per region playoff a defeat isnt season ending

I disagree with this somewhat. Those teams you mentioned, have all been beaten by Glenville in D1 playoffs, over the years. Those were all decent teams back then too, and they also beat Glenville some years.

Problem is being locked into the Senate, the schedules are probably already made out for the league games. Including Week 10 probably.

I’m rooting for Glenville. Coach Ginn does amazing things for his players and we have all enjoyed watching them play at OSU and other colleges over the years. They are due for a state championship!
