Winton Woods v Springfield

Word is the WR for Springfield that has a decent amount of offers is no longer playing WR. Said he is playing Safety now. Said the change came after he didn’t get no playing time in the Princeton scrimmage. Conflict between him and the OC. Don’t know how true it is but he definitely didn’t see the field against Princeton.

I take off many months of Yappi posting and come back to find barely a 2 screen thread for this game??!

Springfield will be a tough challenge but WW folks would have it no other way.
Where my Warriors at?

WW is loaded with talent as usual.
Defense will be bringin it every Friday.
Electric players on D will impress.

All eyes on the offensive line tonight and for weeks to come.
This was the main issue with the goofy games last year.
I think the talent is better in the OL group this season.
Plus there were obvious coaching issues with the OL that really should be corrected and in the past now.

The return of some old coaches has me hopeful for a big season.
OC is back and I'm guessing it will go like last time he was here.
Slow start with the new system but will get better as they go.

I do not make predictions but do expect a great physical game!

Go Warriors.

Is there a stream?
If so can someone please share?
Not sure I can watch anyway but just in case.

Loggin on again late tonight for what is sure to be a Sh** Show of what people thought they saw but didn't in the game tonight!

Blue!
Give us Yappi folks some info about this years WW squad that most may not realize.
Always appreciate your analysis of the Warriors!
Of course the defense will be VERY GOOD! Coach Forest the Offensive Coordinator during the last State Championship run is back. This year's Warrior offense will be run heavy. Coach C. Johnson is back for another stint as a Warrior football coach and he has the offensive line playing much better from last year. With a stable of good back, this Warrior squad has a chance to be really good.

Thanks Blue.

If we have guys firing out and getting after someone it will be a great season.
I have total confidence in the players and Forest/Johnson coaching combo let's go!

i have heard this years ww team is not asphysical as previous years
Do you believe they are physical now? It got real physical. To be honest Springfield shouldn't have scored any points. One thing I will say is that Springfield is known to get better as the season goes on.

Springfield defense is pretty damn good. They shut out WW in the 2nd half. The offensive play calling is very limited. Even when QB1 was in there the play calling was very limited. They will have their hands full next week.

Posted this on the GWOC thread, but Springfield had major issues on the lines (especially OL) and with the snaps on special teams. They couldn’t block WW’s guys.

Bad snaps and slow snaps resulted in four blocked kicks that probably resulted in WW scoring 9 points and Springfield not scoring 6 points. From what I saw the actual kicking and punting looks very solid, but the relay in getting it there…man it was really bad tonight.

Going to go out on a limb here, but the play calling doesn’t really matter when you can’t block…and they really struggled to block in pass protection all night.

I was at the game and instead of giving my recap I will just point out a couple of things.

Remember WW folks this is only MY opinion, plus I really don’t want any other teams possibly getting a heads up.

1 WW defense is going to be a problem for other teams. They were physical, fast, and quick to the ball. They will set the tone.

2 just for this game J. Hill is who you thought he was. Quick off the edge, he is that guy.

3 D Massy-Wright is a freaking beast, a dog. Not just this game, but his time at WW.

4 O line for a first game was 50/50. The holding penalties continue to be a big issue. Of course some were correct, but not sure about all.

I won’t comment on the offense just yet, however they did enough to get the win on the Road.

Springfield- special teams need work/ improvement

The QB they brought in gave them an offensive jolt. He was quick, fast and gave WW a little trouble getting to him consistently because of his speed.

I’m pretty sure Springfield will undoubtedly improve and get better as the season progresses as will WW

Go Warriors

Did WW’s offense actually score their points, or did they get points off turnovers/field position from the blocked kicks? Just wondering if the offense is more functional than last year, when actual sustained scoring drives were a rarity. Of course their stats aren’t posted to the ECC site yet.

Springfield defense is good BUT the WW offense shot themselves in the foot often. WW moved the ball fairly well and the offensive line is much improved from last season. I feel they will progressively get better as the season progresses.

I agree. WW had to have over 100 yards in flags for sure.

I'm glad to hear WW offense is improved since last year.
