Chaminade has to be the favorite as they return the 2023 POY plus stud LHP Charlie Hoagland. They are the defending DII regional champs. Badin has won every GCL title but one in the 33 year history of the league though for a time the league was split in two divisions. The Rams lost a lot of pitching depth. Fenwick has D1 commit C. Sova and first team GCL Von Bargen returning. Have to go with the Eagles or Falcons in 2024.

Von Bargen graduated last year

Definitely agree that either Fenwick or CJ takes it. Their 2 matchups during the season should be electric.

Never ever rule out Badin. Doesn’t matter who graduated. Rule of thumb is that they always have guys. Also CJ always plays Badin and Fenwick back to back so one of those two teams always gets to avoid one of CJ’s top two arms.

Not sure what to think of the other three teams this year. Any insiders?

Badin lost 13 Seniors from last year's powerhouse team. I was recently talking to a Rams parents and they stated how Badin will have young talent aside from one decent starter on the mound. From what I gathered, young team, fast, good coaching, good environment, lacking big game experience from losing almost every starter.

Badin baseball has lost a lot of seniors from last year and now all have quit. They are more focused on younger classes.

Tough star to the year for CJ. Open up with a loss to X 10-3, with 7 unearned runs. Then falls to Versailles 3-1, all 3 unearned. They really gotta clean up the errors and walks. It’s still early though.

All 10 were unearned. Bottom of the first: Single, walk, sac bunt, hbp, e5, e4, 6-3, single, single, single, walk, walk, single(e9 imo),f8. 10 runs, 5hits, 2 errors.
Badin pitcher walked 6 guys in four innings, including walking the bases loaded and then striking out the side in the 4th.

Were you at the game? What did Fenwick Struggle with the most despite the errors? Anything stick out like a sore thumb?

Watched it online. The first inning stats are self explanatory. Walks and errors lead to losses. Fenwick had the lead off hitter on, via a walk in the 1st, 2nd and 4th innings and didn't cross the plate.
