What girls are going to be removed from sectionals for not following their alpha weight loss plan ?

I have heard of 2 challenges so far that 2 girls at 115# weighed in and wrestled at 125# after their alpha said they could be at 115#, if they did then they would be ineligible to go back to 115# which would take them out of Sectionals by rule. If they find this to be the case then they can not be entered into a different wt class now because the deadline has passed.

Claymont and Northwest is what I was told, I have nothing in this but I do know that at least 1 of these girls wrestled 125 in Jan. after their Alpha said they could of been at 115. I know alot of coaches don't understand the rule but once your alpha says you can be at a weight and you weigh-in more than 1 weight class above then you forfeit your lowest allowable weight for the remainder of the season. So wrestling 115 then going up and weighing in and wrestling 125 means you can't go back to 115 at all. It will be a shame if these 2 girls can't wrestle but I do know some girls that this happened to last year also, the OHSAA really needs to put out a better interpretation or explanation of this rule.

If they weigh in at 120 and wrestling 125 they would still be good to make 115 though. very confusing rule.

You are correct, but the 1 girl weighed in at 124 and wrestled 125 which would make her ineligible to go back to 115. The weight loss plan for girls is crazy, thier timeline shows them to be able to loose alot of weight during the season. The next problem with the rule is that if your alpha says you can drop the weight in December or early January then it forces you to drop and maintain for the rest of the season instead of just waiting and following the 1.5% per week rule.

If it was plus 4, 124 is 120.

Coaches need to attend the coaches clinic. It was covered at length there.

I think your post are very passive aggressive. Just let us all know why this is keeping you up at night? Is it the rules that are being broken or is the problem that the girl is good and might win against your little Susie? I don’t believe you have any facts. I do believe you like stirring the pot with vague nonsense like your original post.
