Game of the week, probably Elida at Defiance. Two teams that SEEM to be on the rise. Even with its first loss last week, Elida still controls its own destiny for the league title and can still cause some damage, with plenty of tough games ahead. Meanwhile, Defiance has been over .500 this late in the season probably twice in the last 13 seasons.

Last week, it was easy. For the first time this season there were no new pickers in a week, but out of 22 people, only five people went 3-2, the rest were all 4-1. The consensus went 4-1 with Elida costing a lot of people a perfect record. Elida was one of three unanimous picks, and might be the first unanimous loss of the season. Only one person picked against Defiance, and four people decided to take St. Marys over Van Wert. Not much change in the standings, as one person dropped from a tie for 2nd into 6th, and for the second straight week, no one dropped off the all-week list.

Defiance - Hopefully Defiance stay on positive path.

Wapak- Just better
Celina- Huge win last week. Bath already lost its winnable games.
VW- Still think OG is better than 1-4 indicates. But this could get ugly.
St. Marys- Once again, just better
Defiance- Oh boy. Makes me nervous seeing then as overwhelming favorites. But they've beaten teams Celina beat by more and of course Celina beat Elida. Home crowd. Lots of momentum coming off the last 6 quarters. Let's hope it doesn't come crashing down here.

Wapak big.
Celina over Bath - Celina could get on a roll. Maybe we read a little too much into getting stomped by two really good teams in the first two weeks.
Van Wert over O-G - I can see the Titans holding the Cougars under their offensive average, but I can also see O-G getting shut out.
St. Marys should run all over Shawnee.
Defiance over Elida - Both teams have just 3 wins between their defeated opponents. The only common opponent was about the same score. I wanted to wait as long as possible to see if Elida's starting QB was going to play. Still don't know, but I'm gonna go with Defiance because of a slightly tougher schedule so far, and hope it can get some momentum going here in the second half of the season. This does seem like the only game this week that could go either way.
