Today New Richmond heads to Western Brown to take on the Broncos. The Lions are hopign to leave with a win, and hope to demolish. The singles players for the lions are dominate this year, while the doubles teams are also thriving. I'm not sure what the broncos have, but i hope its a good match. I don't want another bethel match. Last year the lions took the broncos 5-0, hopefully we repeat. Anyone got anyhting to add? Also the lions set a new school record yesterday beating bethel in an 1 hour and 28 minutes. Not saying bethel is good, but thats fast. Look out broncos here we come. Western Brown : 5-0, 3-0 league and New Richmond 2-1, 2-0 in league.

Is Western Brown really that good? Because we played them last year and they did not even get one game on all five courts. We double bageled them on all of our courts. And we are not even that amazing.

yeah

yeah there not that good, im being honest with you, we lost becuase half of our team wasnt feeling well, and the wind on there courts is HORRIBLE. whenver you toss for your serve the wind takes the ball so yeah, we'll get em 5-0 at our courts. who you play for?

Man NR's much overhyped senior class has excuses for everything. Poor babies, you weren't feeling good. Why don't you show me where it hurts, I'll come over and kiss it and make it feel better. And that WB wind really is tricky. It only affects the balls NR hits, while not affecting WB at all. Dirty rednecks!

Seriously, maybe if you guys would try this thing called "work" you wouldn't be underachieving in so many sports. It's the same thing as the football team. Before the season starts you look around, see a lot of seniors on the team, then declare yourselves da bomb and start reserving your spot deep into the playoffs. From then on you act like you're entitled to that spot and don't do a damn thing to actually get yourselves there. Maybe throw in some personal scandals like the Myspace morons on the football team or "lets get baby girls drunk" on the soccer team. Then the season starts, you get your rear ends handed to you by teams not impressed with your greatness, and instead of looking in a mirror to get things back on track you either start blaming others or come up with the dumbest excuses like the wind or "not feeling well".

Message to your tennis team and 80% of other NR athletes - if you want to know why you keep underachieving, look in a mirror and start there.

cool

i guess we all are underachievers. WE SUCK! the funny thing is that we really dont. we just have off days, wait to see who wins league fr tennis this year. the soccer team hasnt lost league in 9 years, and well the football team sucks ---. maybe if they got rid of the quarterback that ran away from being sacked it might help, but im not an expert in football, but i'll ask my dad, he played at colerain and then college. all american runner up, lets see what he has to say about Nr's football team. He'll probably say the same thing both of us say, but it's cool. Yeah we'll see who beats WB when we play em at home. I'll let you know how it goes. We play Roger Bacon monday, so we should win. hopefully, if we can pull our heads outta our ---. what else? o where are you from? we're just wondering.

That didn't go too well. After losing to Roger Bacon 4-1 and falling to 2-3 on the year, with all the losses coming against teams you thought you'd beat, do you still wish to question my statements that attitude problems are hurting NR sports or do you have some other laughable excuse ready? You've said yourself you guys have the talent and you're probably right, but if this is all you're doing with it then you're obviously not approaching things properly.

I really wish you could drop this phony code of honor that says, "my friends are always right", because if you understood what killed your football team's season you'd see so clearly what's downing your own team. The attitudes I've picked up from both teams are so similar it's amazing. Why let your senior season go down the tubes when you can just look at the cancerous attitudes on one of your other sports teams and instead learn from their mistakes?

You know damn well that Div 1 prospect Cody Reardon is not the reason the football team was 4-6. I believe he was 5-0 as a starter his freshman year, and he was the QB last year of a team that went 5-5 with 4 of the losses coming down to the last 3 minutes. 5 wins and 4 close losses, and virtually that entire team was back this year. They definitely should have had 7-8 wins this year; instead they finish 4-6 getting their ----- kicked in 4 of the losses and just plain quitting in the final 2 games.

You are correct when you say Reardon takes too many sacks, but that didn't stop the team from doing well in his prior 15 starts that resulted in 10 wins. That issue is maybe 5% of the team's problems. He can't be blamed for an unmotivated offensive line stocked with attitude problems that gave him no protection, 2 talented running backs that coasted all season, a defensive line that let itself get dominated by every half-decent o-line, a horrible, underachieving linebacking corps that talked a much better game than they played, and a secondary too slow to cover anyone with speed (except for Menkhaus who did play well and didn't quit at the end of the year like the rest of his quitter teammates). The secondary was hopeless but the rest should have done much better. If you want to blame a Reardon for their collapse, blame former Head Coach Jerry Reardon for doing nothing about the attitude problems that ruined the season and got him fired.

To answer your question about where I'm from, I live on Planet Earth which is why I have this ability to see what goes on right in front of me. You would too, if you'd drop this ridiculous "my friends are never wrong" attitude and realize those around you aren't always doing the right things.

how many interceptions did cody throw compared to his completions, or how many touchdowns did he throw. also when our first doubles team of greg mott and bill loyd are still undefeated playing together and we are still second in our league with now what seems to be a much better line up we will see who wins the next time they come to play

You guys do have a solid top 1 or top 2, I'll give you that. However the most you can get from 2 guys is 2 wins, and if you put them in doubles all you can get is the one win. Your big problem seems to be the lack of depth thereafter. Your #3 is very weak, and you must not have much after that or someone else would have stepped up by now. You're gonna have to fix that.

Re: football, I can repeat for you as many times as you'd like me to that Reardon did not do as well as he should have. It's equally obvious that virtually nobody else on that team did either. How is that an entire team's worth of players underachieves? Poor attitude, that's how. The attitude problem of the senior players was more obvious than Reardon's inability to throw the ball away to avoid the sack. Sorry, but I'm not going to pin an entire senior-dominated team's problems on one junior kid. I'll evaluate Reardon as he deserves it, but I'm going to apply the same standards to everyone else.

Whether I'm talking about your tennis or football team I've got no problem giving credit where it's due and doing the same for the blame. Granted it's easy for me since I've got no dog in these fights, but if you want your team to improve you've got to be more objective with your analyses. Learn from your football team's bad example, don't repeat it. You can't just go through and exempt all your friends, then lay the blame on everyone else or on a series of outside, random factors (like the wind or not feeling good). You've got to put your friendships aside, figure out what the problem is, then get to work addressing it. You believe your team's talent is a 9 or a 10, but you're playing more like a 6. So put your biases aside and figure out, what are you guys doing that's causing the gap, and what can you guys do to fix it?

So how was the long-awaited rematch?
