Week 8: LaSalle

For those of you attending games what is your assessment of Herbstreit? His stats from the LaSalle game were modest but was that on him, the play calling or the LaSalle D?
He has good blood lines and appears to be growing in physical stature. He will be fine once he goes through puberty GBM

Herbstreit seems to be comfortable, even though half the time he is being chased by the DL/LB. For a sophomore he is doing fine, not sure what anyone else could expect. StX is going to have a heck of a QB battle in the off season.

Largely play calling, they were very run heavy, with a few play action shots. He has very good pocket awareness and seems to make good decisions, especially for a soph. It would not surprise me at all if he started the next two years.

Panthers were in Indy. We went to X v. LaSalle, cool to see all the celebs there, the kids loved it and got pictures with them. Herbstreit was ok, missed open guys, but created some plays for the team. Still not the jolt that X needs offensively, they are so boring to watch. Exactly the same game I watch vs. Elder, everyone in the stands knows what's coming. They did have a good little running back. Zac Taylor and X offensive coach are the same. Call the same plays week after week and week after week get the same result. We sat on the X side and their fans are very frustrated. Commenting that their best players are not on field or in wrong spots. High School football, Ups and Downs. They could not score vs. Elder and they could not score vs LaSalle and LaSalle is bad. Thank goodness for X that they have a better defense.

Frosh Blue Team wins on Thursday 16-0 to finish the season 7-0
A defensive safety was followed by a pair of TD runs by RB Brayden Reilly (6 yards) and QB Daniel Vollmer (12 yards)
They outscored their 7 opponents 201-61
As good as the offense is, the defense is loaded as well.
Comparisons of this class with the class of 2008 (seniors during the 2007 state championship season) and the class of 2022 (last season's seniors) will be forthcoming
