Very little movement in both the Girls and the Boys D1 Polls. Not surprising with a lot of top 10 teams taking last week off.
You can find the polls here.

Yes Perrysburg girls and Olen. Orange boys looked great last week, not to be overlooked.Perrysburg girls got a boost this week and snuck ahead of Centerville after winning at Strongsville. And Mas. Jackson stayed ahead of Olen. Orange on the boys side despite getting beat by them last weekend.
Oct 9th we get to see St. X and HD match up again, we'll see how things have changed since their first meeting in early September.
Link to results?St. Xavier easily wins their home meet. It looks like they didn't even run a few of their top guys.
It appears that St. Ignatius usual #1 guy Matt Kelly had a rough day on the hills. 41st at 19:30. He was leading at the 1 mile.St. Ignatius just barely holds off Woodridge at the CVNP invite. 52-59. Solon 3rd with 104.

Those were only the DI results, but then again, the thread is only about DI teams. The Stark County Championship boys race might have been the best team race so far this year:
1. Hoover: 65
2. Louisville: 69
3. Mas. Jackson: 70
4. Mas. Perry: 75
5. GlenOak: 76
That must have been fun to watch.
Mas. Jackson wins the girls race with 27.

Apologies. I only clicked on the D1 Boys results and didn’t look any closer. Marlington is an excellent team and deserves their recognition. Those were only the DI results, but then again, the thread is only about DI teams.

Blaze Fichter of Hoover won in 15:27. Hoover's injured top 5 runner made his season debut. Without him, they're 5th overall. Marlington's #1 ran good but not great, but they kept their spread under 1:00. Jackson's spread was better, but word before the race was their top 2 weren't feeling well which cost them valuable points up front. Louisville's gap from 4 to 5 was over 1:00. That has to improve if they want to compete with the top teams in DI.
No worries.Apologies. I only clicked on the D1 Boys results and didn’t look any closer. Marlington is an excellent team and deserves their recognition.
With that addition to Hoover’s team, they may be top 5 now.
An interesting observation on the Stark results, through 4 runners Louisville was ahead of overall champion Marlington by 12 points, 51-63. It seems that they're just one piece off of being the top team in the county. This also applies if you only score D1 in which they are ahead of D1 champion Hoover by 5 points going into the 5-man. The main question regarding them now is if they can get consistency at the 5 spot considering that same 5 man that ran 17:44 yesterday ran 16:41 at the Wooster Invitational a few weekends ago. It seemed Jackson had an off day as well, their usual top 2 runners didn't run as strong as they have been in previous meets. As stated by some others on here Hoover seems to be a completely different team now that their 800 specialist is back on the course with the team. Should be an interesting district meet in which we'll see all 5 of these state ranked teams battle it out again at GlenOak.No worries.
Not sure Hoover's a top 5 team statewide with the return of this runner (he's much handier in a particular track event), but Hoover beat some teams today that they didn't beat without him in previous weeks, so they're clearly better when he races. Today was yet another example though of how a DI team can vault up the standings on a good day or take a tumble down the standings on a bad day.
Part of what makes any county meet fun is it's often 1 of few opportunities during the season for the smaller school runners to take their shot at the big school runners. Also, part of what makes Stark County XC so entertaining is that there are usually a couple non-DI teams each year who can hold their own. AFAIK, Stark County is the most populous county that holds a countywide meet for XC as well as for track, and all the teams in the county attend with very few exceptions through the years. The last time a team flat-out didn't attend the County XC meet was over 25 years ago when 1 of the coaches instead took his team to a meet in the Kansas City area. Incidentally, this was the 54th annual edition of the Stark County XC Meet for the boys. The girls' competition began in 1980.
In the girls race, Ann Arbor Pioneer from MI won by even more. After that, the Centerville girls came back to just barely beat the Mason girls.
HomecomingThe odd thing about that girls race was Loveland only running four kids.
Still - only four out of 24 were available? Also, interestingly it appears the four that ran are the team's top 4.Homecoming
You are clearly not a girl. There were 5 actually, one was in a boot.Still - only four out of 24 were available? Also, interestingly it appears the four that ran are the team's top 4.
Impeccable timing. I was talking to a girls coach on Sat. whose school’s homecoming dance was on Sat. evening. He said his girls traditionally run poorly the day of the dance. You are clearly not a girl. There were 5 actually, one was in a boot.
Easy variable to eliminate. We have gone to a schedule in XC and track and we don't race the weekend of homecoming or prom. No need to try and fight the beast.
