Not only was Kaleb Johnson missing from the Big Blue offense but so was big #72 senior offensive tackle Derrick Deaton 6'6" 330lb
Reminded me of the first round game X had at Gahanna Lincoln in 2015 when the talk was about Lincoln's senior defensive end Jonathan Cooper who was headed to Ohio State. He was on the sidelines the whole game with an injury......was disappointment not to see him. He's now with the Denver Broncos
StX
RB Charles Kellom: 128 yards rushing, 29 yards receiving, 2 TDs
LB Grant Lyons: 7 tackles, 2 sacks
CB Alex Kemper: 49 yard INT return for TD, 3 tackles
Hamilton
WR/LB Breeon Ishmail: 4 catches for 95 yards and 4 tackles
WR/S/KR Elijah Givens: 4 carries for 28 yards, 6 catches for 28 yards and 1 TD, 5 kickoff returns for 83 yards and 7 tackles
So last season's week 1 playoff win over Hamilton found their Iowa bound star RB Kaleb Johnson on the sidelines never to play in the game.
Ran into someone in the know a couple weeks ago said he was perfectly fine, chose not to play in the game.
Just saw this tweet on-line......
Iowa freshman RB Kaleb Johnson ( @BigBlueFB
) was named this morning as the Big Ten offensive player and freshman of the week. 1st career 200-yard game (second career 100-yard game), finishing with 200 yards on 22 attempts and a TD in Iowa's 24-3 win at Purdue.
