First round rematch from 2022 where the Falcons won 56 to 34. Thoughts on this one gents???
Thanks Worm, and back at ya. We had John Hay for the 1st round last year. You never know with kids but you guys are set up pretty nicely for the first round. Good luck and maybe see ya for round two week after next.Fitch should be pretty happy with their program right now. Youth is on their side, especially their sophomore class. Deon’Dray Richard has the potential to be special.
BEAT MAYFIELD!
For sure!Let's step up a gear! Take care of their football and keep running the rock.
Spot on as usual. This team reminds me of McDowell with a better defense and a slightly worse offense. They are pretty big with a nice QB. They do not run the ball as well. We both played Jackson and Riverside. They lost to Jackson and beat Riverside. The Jackson game was close. They also lost to Mooney, Kenston, Nordonia, and Chardon. None of their wins were against teams with a winning record. They are going to be a tough matchup for us because they are going to throw. By only rushing three most the time, we are giving teams all day to throw. That coupled with a weak secondary could end up with them scoring a lot. Our main problem is we don’t play disciplined football. We give up big plays, commit a lot of penalties, and tackle poorly. Our defensive backs have all kinds of problems tackling. That led to Harding beating us. I would love if we went to a four man front. Our linebackers are not good enough to run this defense. Only DiFlorio looks good. The other guys are much too small to have to take linemen. We should beat these guys because we are more talented, but talent does not equate to a good team.

Good questions. I feel first and foremost they need to get the penalties under control and play with more discipline. If you can't control that you're never going to be considered among the elites IMO.Can TJ Parker take this Falcon program to the next level? What can he do to take them to that elite level. I see they are giving him the resources in that of an indoor facility, but can he use that to develop this program to be among the state elite?? The Falcons should win this game and hopefully set up a rematch with the Raiders. Only time will tell.
Thanks for your imput. Good luck to you and Mooney as well.I have not seen McDowell this year but I did see Mooney beat Mayfield, 34-6. That's the most points Mooney scored in a game this season. As you mentioned Mayfield has a good QB and they also have a couple of WRs with good hands. They don't have a lot of team speed though. The QB hit several slant patterns to those receivers but nothing too big. Mooney's D looked much quicker than Mayfield and so the Wildcats struggled to sustain any offense. Likewise Mayfield had trouble containing Mooney's receivers as the Cardinals threw 4 TD passes. I would think the Wildcats will struggle with Fitch's speed also.
Good luck to both teams.
GO FALCONS!
I hope you’re correct, but this is a terrible matchup for us. Our corners just aren’t good, and that could lead to them scoring a lot of points. Couple that with our turnovers and we are cooked. We need a four man front to put pressure on their quarterback, and I don’t think the Falcon staff will do it.I have not seen McDowell this year but I did see Mooney beat Mayfield, 34-6. I haven’t followed as close as most this year, but last five or six years our cornerbacks were a strong point and a constant for us. I’ve watched most games and now that you mention it, our defensive backs have had a underwhelming year (for whatever reasons). Could it also be beside DiFlorio, our linebackers are not as good in pass coverage as they were in past years. We seem better against the run when we play four d-lineman , with three being big bodies. I really want to get past Mayfield and give Harding a payback. I definitely think we are a better team than Harding and we’ve underperformed against them, McDowell and laid an egg against Ursuline.I hope you’re correct, but this is a terrible matchup for us. Appreciate that, thanks!I can see Austintown Fitch Winning this game beat Mayfield
Your welcomeAppreciate that, thanks!
True enough. You just never know with kidsMost of the nitty gritty has been said, I believe it's unanimous on who is supposed to win,but sometimes in the playoffs anything can happen. Whether by 1 or41,all that matters now is to win. If Fitch comes to play, they should win comfortably. Good luck to both schools!
Fitch would need 5 turnovers to lose.True enough. You just never know with kids
They just one fumble returned on them for a 97 yd. touchdown BrianFitch would need 5 turnovers to lose.
Told you.Final:
Austintown Fitch 31
Mayfield 7
Congrats Falcons!
