Can you believe Week 1 is upon us? Hasn't been much chatter about the 2021 season...

Looks like we have the following matchups in SW OH.

Sycamore at Lebanon. Time?
Loveland at Harrison 7pm
Sidney at Springboro 7pm
Indian Hill at Batavia 7pm
Alter at Centerville 715pm

Sorry if Im missing some? Just went off of conference websites.

I am going to assume MND will be the top of the class again in the city and GGCL. Mason in GMC, Loveland in ECC. Centerville and Creek in the GWOC and Dayton. Indian Hill/Madeira/Mariemont in the CHL, will someone else prevail? Who else will be good across the levels?

Predictions for week 1?

GCL- MND / nobody has the number of high level club players they do. They are deeper then ever.
GMC - Mason. Crogan will lead conference in points, lots of returning talent and many great club players.
ECC - MIlford./ last years stud freshman will be even better, They were very good last year.
SWOC - Ross / Strong group of returning seniors for them, rising Sophomore Jackson shined in conference games last year
GGCL - Alter / Lost head coach, and a lot of Seniors including beast of a keeper. Could be a let down year.
CHL - Mariemont / solid talent returning and a good incoming class, Little Murphy is relentless in the middle.
MVL - CCD / Best mid in their league hands down with Zimmerman and Moorman is built for HS soccer. both Younger Zimmerman's very good.
SWBL - Waynesville / Erbach can score from anywhere and outrun almost anyone. Graduated both all state mids? Maybe Monroe, but lost a lot too.
GWOC - Centerville / A runway. Influx of some GA kids solidifies an already great team. Northmont possibly 2nd.

MND and Centerville play each other last game of the year. Both teams should go deep.

Don't sleep on Bellbrook in the SWBL. Already have a couple of 2-0 scrimmage wins over Northmont and Lebanon.
That's awesome to hear! I am hoping for a very good SWBL season to prepare for the playoffs. Glad that we (Waynesville) are now part of the bigger school side of the SWBL. Did well in our scrimmages with a positive outcome vs Northmont, Mason and Walsh Jesuit. Tied 2-2 vs Centerville Varsity with 20 minutes left in a full 80 minute scrimmage and the flood gates opened. We only had 7 varsity girls available for that game and our JV girls who had to play with us just played 80 minutes against Centerville's JV right before. That said Centerville was just better than us. Looking forward to the season.

Shaping up to be a good one. Monroe had positive results v Mason, Beavercreek, Tippecanoe and Revere with a tie versus Centerville.

GCL- Agree with MND! They have so much talent, its crazy. Seton and SUA will be good as well, if SUA can be consistent, past 6 years theyve had talent and have not done well. Seton also has some talent to compete.

GMC- Mason is the top of the GMC this year. Huge senior class that is loaded. Kuerze and Beard may have something to say about Crogan being the points leader.

SWOC- Is there even any competition besides Ross and Harrison?

GGCL- Alters to lose. TO much talent there.
CHL- Will be fun! Mariemont/Madeira/Indian Hill will all be competing for the top spot there.

MVL- CCD should win, but never count out SCD!
GWOC- Cville/Creek, I look for Miamisburg and Boro to be solid this year as well, after boro had a down year last season.

Sycamore at Lebanon. = Lebanon 1-0
Loveland at Harrison 7pm = Loveland 4-0
Sidney at Springboro 7pm = Springboro = 2-1
Indian Hill at Batavia 7pm = IH 3-0
Alter at Centerville 715pm = Centerville 2-0

Two of my daughters club teammates led the GWOC last year in points and goals. One 1st and the other 3rd. One at Burg and the other at Creek. Neither is playing high school this year. That will make a dent in both programs in my opinion. Don't know much about Boro's team this year or any new kids from either Girls Academy or Freshman that they are picking up in the GWOC. outside of the GA and freshman girls we know who played when we played Centerville.

GCL, MND will be very good, biggest issue will be keeping that many talented kids happy with playing time. 90% of their starters will play D1 soccer. That's crazy.

Agree on Mason. and on Baird giving anyone in the GMC a run for their money on goals.

Alter did lose their coach and a very talented keeper that certainly kept them in the game with us, but the new Coach is good too and the school just attracts talent.

CHL - Madeira has a special player in Cochran that you just cant look past or count out and the coaches always get alot out of what they have. . Don't know much about Mariemont other than they are always good and very well coached. We get tp play them this year, should be a good game. At least I hope it is for us,.

I know nothing about the SWOC.

MVL - I'll pick Summit because I'm an emotional supporter I suppose, and while we have good friends and teammates on both teams. I just want them to win!

Milford seems like a good pick in the ECC, but when was the last time Loveland didn't win it? They just know how to win.

SWBL, interesting to see my kid mentioned in the previous post, Ha. She'll appreciate that. She's coming off a good club and high school preseason so far for sure but we lack some depth in important area's and we are a small D3 school playing with D1 and large D2's. I'm a fan of Monroe for once again emotional reasons but Bellbrook is the big dog on the block. I say we finish 3rd behind those two. Cant pick a winner. Head says Bellbrook, heart says Monroe. But I'd be really happy if it were Waynesville.

Wish all the girls good luck and a safe and healthy season.

I think size-wise Bellbrook is the big dog, but I think Monroe has shown to be the better program as of late just looking at the swbl site. That said, I feel like any team except Franklin could find a way in the 'good soccer" division this year. Your kid is a baller and fun to watch and I understand she has some classmates who will help out quite a bit this season.

Thank you. It's certainly not a one man show. Her teammates are talented.

We went and watched the Monroe/Miamisburg scrimmage tonight after practice. Miamisburg is fast. Very fast. They could very likely challenge for the GWOC title. They are a good team. Looked way better than Northmont and more dangerous in attack than what we saw from Centerville. The match up between Centerville and Miamisburg will be a fun series to watch.

I heard Miamisburg was by far the best team Monroe faced this preseason.

Lebanon 1
Sycamore 0
Went to watch with my daughter, she has friends from both schools playing. Each have some work to do before conference play. Lebanon broke though with a goal with 7 minutes left from Rodgers. A great strike coming across the penalty area from the touch line beating a double team. That was the only legitimate shot all game by either team. Lebanon was the better team. Wish them both the best this season.

I’m sure someone was there to explain. Batavia had their first scrimmage Wednesday and lost to Summit 3-1. Coming back and beating Indian Hill is huge. Congrats to them but still a very interesting score line
I wasn't there but I did watch the playoff game between the two of them at Indian Hill last year and they were very evenly matched in that one. Indian Hill only won it 1-0. Batavia brought back basically that entire team. Not as surprising as a result as you'd think.

Late to the party, but here goes...

GCL -- Alter - remains strong offensively, with a fast wing and strong attacking midfield, but they've slid back defensively from last season. Likely wins the conference.

GGCL -- MND - looks like more of the same this year based on what I'm hearing about depth. Is it right though that they play Creek, Mason, Milford and Centerville? That's insane!

GMC -- Mason - Theirs to lose. Fun to watch Baird, Crogan, and Curl work in tandem.

GWOC -- Centerville (Sleeper: Miamisburg) - Can't see Northmont squeezing in unless their D significantly improved. Really like 'Burg's chances this year, despite the loss of Cummings. Creek has the talent, but will they be consistent? Centerville will be the toughest out.

SWBL -- Monroe (Sleeper: Bellbrook) - playmakers on both sides of the pitch, safe pick, but I like Bellbrook's chances this year to move ahead with the number of upper classmen in their ranks.

Just looking back at my early predictions.

As of Today I was dead on with 6 of the 9 (Including picking Milford over Loveland in the ECC) Centerville, Mariemont and Waynesville are 2nd in the Conference all 3 still have a chance to win with a week left. But a runaway Centerville is not. MND Dominating the GGCL. CCD takes the Indian Hill connection of kids and controls the MVL. Taylor a surprise leader in the CHL (Still kinda proud of myself for not picking the braves to win the it)

Moorman is in fact built for HS Soccer the numbers don't lie, and it's clear Erbach can score from anywhere against anyone. Milfords stud freshman last year Manning leads the ECC in goals, Ross's sophomore Jackson is #2 in the Conference in scoring. Crogan and Murphy let me down numbers wise but mini Murphy is still the engine driving the Warriors though from the start I have been saying Oak Hills TFA Freshman is a beast and well....Right again.

Pretty proud of myself here. I deserve a single malt with today's Brunch.
