Weather impacting games tonight

Looks like rain and possibly lightning impacting games tonight. Use this thread to post any games that are delayed or cancelled for the night.

Rain expected in Youngstown quite heavily by game time. Lightning is my big issue. Hopefully it's just rain.

Most likely. If it's monsoon like conditions, I've seen games delayed until that ends but usually it was only paused because of lightning first anyways. If it just is rain and the game was going on, they'll keep going.
 
Not that any of you would particularly care, but as someone who maintains and updates a historical HS football website (and did the requisite research), "rain nights" are the absolute bane of my existence, as there is so much I would have to change around. I'm hoping for little to no delays and/or postponements (Good thing the g/f is giving me this weekend off).

But in all seriousness, I hope everyone stays safe tonight.
 
Dresden had hail for about 10 minutes in the middle of downpours. The current downpour according to radar has another 30 minutes or so.

I could see some games delaying in some areas for teams to get back lost warm up time.
 
As someone who attends a ton of games, as a fan and later as a photographer... TAKE A TOWEL WITH YOU!

Seriously. $3.50 at walmart. Buy a cheap towel just for games. Wipe down your seats with it with one side folded, and sit on the other. if you don't move, even with heavy rain the towel will stay dry under you. And you won't be sitting on a cold surface. Even with rain soaking every other side of you. Take several even. Doesn't matter. I see so many fans complain about rain covered bleachers and it can be solved with one of the cheapest things you can find at Walmart.

Secondly, if it's heavy rain. DON'T use an umbrella. They rarely work. Get a $8 5x7 tarp. Sit on it and pull it up over your back and over your head. Really easy to hold the corners to adjust it however you want.

Yeah, you'll still probably get wet, especially with wind, but just a few little things can make a rain soaked game as a fan that much more enjoyable.

8$ tarp??? how about a $.10 trash bag... bite 2 corners and center, squeeze arms, head through small holes for custom water tight fit. I always keep one in my pocket, if any thoughts of rain. Bring two and make the unprepared person next to you share their popcorn if they want to stay dry.

That's just a redneck rain jacket. I'm talking about actual cover. And the tarp is reusable for years.
 
Clinton Massie at Dresden Tri-Valley has been delayed multiple times by lightning.

Currently expecting kickoff at 8:30 pm

Edit: Just announced 8:15 pm start time.

Having invented Sports Impact in 1993, I certainly had problems with my android phone tonight since it kept knocking me off the Internet during the second half. TEGNA must be proud.
