2011 Season
UA will have lots of experience coming back. Although they loose a big part of their 2010 squad, they have plenty of talent waiting in the wings. With their goalie coming back after a full year as starter, UA will also have a big advantage in goal. The 2011 seniors were a large part of the team this year, and the rising juniors are full of guys ready to step up and make a mark on the 2011 season. The challenge for the bears going forward will be creating a dynamic of trust, friendship, and even brotherhood within the team. Without it they will continue to be an up and down team who might have a shot in the end, but might just be another promising UA team who can't quite pull it all together much like the '09 squad who had more talent throughout the team than any other (i know milford had dan and several others, but UA had more potential talent vs. milford who utilized all of their talent which ultimatly gave them the championship). The 2011 Bears are as promising as any other team in the state, they just need to bring that talent out and get everyone to play to their potential.
All that talk about UA should not ditract from any of the other teams in the state. Milford is returning a huge senior class, including goalie, which makes them a big time contender from day one. Mason may not have as big a senior class coming up, but they certainly have the coaching and talent to have another promising season. Princeton also has a very large senior class, including goalie, which could make them the team to keep an eye on to have a breakout season.
As for the north, I didn't get to see a lot of their games and know little about the teams. I would assume we can expect much of the same though with lots of talent throughout the region, making for great competition and a wonderful season.
On a final note, all of this is pure speculation and guessing based on the past. Looking at all of the teams across the state, the only certainty is that September can't get here fast enough, and 2011 looks like it should be one heck of a ride.
