I'm just trying to understand how renting parents and school levies have anything to do with the rest of it. Lol. That's just a strange lead in.
But, in a nutshell, this entire conversation goes away if every state adopts red-state election procedures that don't allow for months of voting, ballot harvesting, and counting the votes for weeks.
I suppose Cat has his panties in a wad because he wants to address a sore loser angle and perhaps inform us that we are not a majority. He is correct on the latter - in some places. But his ideology isn't a majority either - in some places. The left has about 35% and the right about 30% - and the some smart, some incredibly stupid independents put one party or the other over the top.
Right now we have a very extreme Dem Party on policy and a Republican Party who is defined by a very radical personality. The people who actually decide elections, many of them, can't tell you who we fought in the revolutionary war, who Obama's VP was, what the 3 branches of government are, what the electoral college is and why it exists, what the major policy differences of the 2 parties are, etc., etc. But they like or don't like certain candidates and they don't like those they perceive as promoting chaos.
These midterms were not about policy or anything else to those voters. They were about protecting abortion rights and not wanting unending non-acceptance of election results. If it were about policy, the Democrats would have got the bruising they have been cruising for. These voters either didn't connect the problems they are having with paying for energy, food, housing, credit, etc. to Dem policies or they had other priorities. Two more years should have Dem policies front and center - unless Bad Orange Man is the GOP nominee, and then it will be about him and all the chaos that comes with him IMO.

It is hard for me to wrap my head around the fact that Democrats support those perversions of free and fair elections all the while screaming from the rooftops about voter suppression.
It insults one's intelligence. I wish they'd just be honest and say we can't win unless we loosen the rules.
