Ok, I'll bite on this one.
I simply do not see your point at all. As an example, last night in a great match at Tallmadge, which Wadsworth won in 5, the Grizzlies started 3 sophomores across thier front line, as usual. By the end of the match it was Wadsworth that played like veterans, and the sophomores, along with thier senior setter, led the way. One of them led everyone in kills and another led all servers in points. They were key players in many clutch situations. They have had one match total, an ugly one to Copley, that they did not rise completely to the occasion, but even in that loss neither of the Sophomores played poorly. In fact, they were intregal in keeping the Grizzlies in the match and also were key to almost pulling off the upset versus Green in their first match this year. They definately have room for improvement, but to say they have not "proved anything" or "stepped up" yet is ignorant They have helped their team to a 4-2 record and have outplayed the majority of the opponents individully across the net from them. That will only improve more with time.
I also agree they have the talent to beat anyone in the league if they play a very good match, but all things being equal, they are a year away from being on Greens level on a consistant basis. They struggle with the the big hitters as they are all adjusting to the timing required to block the big hitters like Emily and Jill. It will come in time though and last night, in defeating Talmadge at thier place, they crossed a big hurdle for themselves mentally and proved to themselves that they can play a good team game. They outhustled, outplayed Tallmadge on every point, and also really played well as a team. I think this will be the turning point for them as a team and they will surprise you if you come out and watch them. :thumb:
