Versailles vs Marion Local

Watched the second half on nfhs. Looked very close. Please don’t take this in the wrong way anybody but with being a Kirtland Fan is ML that low this season or is Versailles that good. I did hear the #25 for ML was hurt earlier in season and he was a Dude in the state championship last year against us. Just wondering also pretty mad that ML blocked the game now on NFHS and I can’t go back and watch the whole game.
We dont have the defense we had last year but i feel our offense is more potent. And Versailles is the real deal and will be a load for anyone in
the playoffs. Yes 25 Otte had surgery last week and is out quite a while. We are now playing minus four starters out with injury. Three on defense.

Thanks for the insight. Like I said i was only able to watch the second half and was a great half. Last year ML rolled them so I was just trying to make an observation that way. If both teams make it back to week 16 I for sure see a hard nose game and it will be a coin flip. Kirtland has played two team so far this season that will make a deep run if not be state champs with Perry in D5 and Dalton in D7. These two teams are the real deal this year.
Yes Marion Local beat Versailles handily last year, especially the playoff game. It shouldn't be a surprise that Versailles made up ground on them this year, because of the key starters the Flyers had to replace this year. I was wondering myself how Perry turned the tables on Kirtland. That seemed more puzzling to me because Kirtland beat Perry by 20 last year and Kirtland has so many returning starters, particularly on defense. Marion Local started the year lacking experience but if somehow they can go undefeated this year, I would venture to say there will be a new state record winning streak set next year because they bring back a lot. I was impressed with both defenses tonight, even though they both did a lot of bending. I predicted a score of 35-21 so being a guy who prefers defense, this game was a pleasant surprise. I do anticipate Versailles vs Kirtland and Marion Local vs Dalton in the finals. It will add some intrigue because just as you were left with questions on how Versailles closed the gap on MSML, some of us were scratching our heads on the Dalton-Kirtland game. At this point in the season it's looking like these are just four very good teams I predict will all be in the finals.

Kirtland lost a bunch of talent on the oline. That’s where the struggle has been this year so far. And in Perry game two of them got hurt one had season ending surgery this week. Last night counted two freshman and 3 juniors on the line one being a starter from last year. It was also very very hard to replace tigers son #4 on defense that kid was in on every play. Perry has one of ML old coaches and there goal all of season was to beat us. They said on multiple occasions on how much film they watched on us in the offseason Pretty sure Goodwin passed along every piece of film he had. And Dalton they are good we had a bunch of mistakes so does every team week 1 if we played them week 2 I don’t think it would have been as close but will never know.

Yes, oline means a lot in football at all levels. Versailles had 4 srs. on the oline ML 4 jrs.. It showed during the game twice the Flyers had 4th and 1 couldn't pick it up. Marion Local has played 2 tough games Wapak and Versailles very fortunate to have won both games.

I would add McComb to your list, Panthers have been kicking but.

Edit: Just noticed McComb lost to Pandora Gilboa last week.

With Kirtland loosing two First team All ohio players Prusock and Pekar on the line is the big hit. They have Kahley who is a very good standout All Ohio guard but it’s tough with out the supporting cast. I think they will be ok once the playoffs start and hopefully these young bucks can step up.
Good luck to the Flyers and Tigers the rest of the way. I do know the Hornets were mad ML dropped down they wanted revenge but hope to get some on the Tigers from two years ago.

Yes it really sucks. I follow the MAC from across the state and I go to my game and then come home and watch MAC games on NFHS. It really sucks Marion Local doea this.

Which coach do they have? ML has had minimal turnover on their coaching staff for the last 2 decades.

I know I'm getting ahead of myself, but my dream 2023 state finals:
D-V Coldwater vs Perry
D-VI Versailles vs Kirtland
D-VII Marion Local vs Dalton

And while I'm fantasizing, I might as well dream of three MAC victories!!!

Versailles had 2 starters on the o line out though too. Not sure they had 4 seniors last night.

Usually have 4 seniors and one jr. playing guard. The junior hurt guard was filled by another junior. The hurt senior right tackle was filled by another senior. Guard hopes to be back in a couple weeks and the tackle to be back for playoffs.

So other teams don't have films of all their games to watch over and over and over again. I get it but it sucks.

The game will be unblocked after the season
Any Kirtland game that is ever streamed will always be available. We have nothing to hide. I guarantee if any coaches wanted to get the film they could find it some how some way. Just a football fan here and wanted to watch the whole game that I paid for.

I don't disagree. I'm just telling you the reason. I will say this, ML is much more diverse in what they do systemically than a school like Kirtland. ML's offense can be very different from year to year. Maybe that's part of the reason. It certainly sucks as a fan though. They only do this for football

Basketball does it as well.
