I thought we were closer in age, but I think you might have been a good 10 years before me at least. I graduated in '87. My class was ~160, so we were about 700. It did not feel crowded. The old building consolidation (library and some specific rooms) means that the upper bound in the current physical plant isn't 2,000, but the total number of actual students with a CMHS consolidation is like 1,200, yes? That should be doable. Ten years ago I felt like I was being polite when we would talk about it, but now it feels like the maintenance of two schools that are probably 8 minutes away from each other on bus routes seems absurd. I am still going to stand tall on the fact that parochial education is massive benefit to whomever can participate (relative to the local system) so moving sooner than later is the best option for the kids there today. I appreciate watching the athletics as a residual part of my experience, but it's not something I'm going to die on a hill for. But I trust the admin today has the same value they always had, and the more kids we can deliver that to, I'm all for.
