The situation with Meyer last year is explained on the link provided.
Maurkice Pouncey started from Day 1 and was a freshman All-American. He went head-to-head with Glenn Dorsey in Baton Rouge and, at worst, played him to a draw. That was before Dorsey suffered injury issue.
Michael Pouncey was the #6 OL for most of the year, being groomed to be next year's starting center. But, attrition on the DL led to him being moved there to start for the last third of the year. He made a major impact and will start either there or on OL next year.
John Brown ran into clearing house issues which kept him out of action or behind enough that he redshirted. Meyer has said he expects him to make a major push to start next year.
Chris Rainey was lauded by UM for his contributions in Fall camp and was playing through the first four games. But, a recurring shoulder injury led the staff to redshirt him.
The other three (Black, Wilson and Wilks) were redshirted. They will need a couple of years to develop into contributors. All have the right attitude and patience to stick it out and help the team.
The current team UM spoke to had no players being courted by UF or other majors. There are several young players who MAY emerge as prospects. But, who knows. Certainly, Lakeland has not been a factory for D1 players, or anything close to it. As has been said here many times, the level of college recruitment of Lakeland players in 2006 was an anomaly
On the other hand, I'm sure he is not that impressed with OSU.
