Can someone confirm whether this massive PB (by over 20 feet) by sophomore CJ Sanna (Olentangy) all the way to 189 feet at his home invite? Given how windy it was Saturday (I heard very windy at the Dayton Relays @ Welcome Stadium), I can justify a freak discus throw riding the winds for a massive PB. However, can anyone that was there confirm whether this really happened or not?

I recall about 20 years ago a girl getting a MASSIVE 40 feet improvement all the way out to 185 from 145 somewhere in Nebraska thanks to a seriously wind-aided discus throw. I don't know that she ever got close to that again, even while in college.

Knowing how to catch a good tail wind should be considered part of the skill. 😁
Right-hand crosswind for righties. Tailwind doesn't help discus. Tail winds can be good for the javelin, but it requires using the correct javelin and someone skilled enough to utilize it.

Thank you, sir. Glad to give credit to a kid where credit is due!

With his 189' 0" toss at his home invite, CJ Sanna is now the Ohio sophomore record-holder, taking down the 188' 7" soph best of Justin Welch (Pemberville Eastwood) from 2008. Congrats to CJ Sanna!

I know nothing about throws but I enjoy reading the discussions.
