Last evening saw some nice putting of the shot at the Centennial Field House at MSJ. Loveland's David Lorek (Sr) launched a 59' 10 ½" put, moving him into the top-50 all-time in Ohio indoor history.

Even better was Deer Park's Camille Davis (Jr) launched her own 43' 10 ½" put with the 4kg shot, moving her to #28 all-time in the girls' Ohio indoor shot put list.

In the 4x800m, Lakota West's team (Kaitlin Kaszubski, Prashi Vatsal, Ava Shepard, Evelyn Prodoehl) dropped a fast 9:39.19 on the 200m flat oval, worth a 9:34.27 on a 200m banked or 300m flat track.

Centennial Field House at Mt. St. Joe is hosting a high school meet every Friday for the next 5 weeks. It is a great facility for indoor track and field in Southwest Ohio. Many thanks to head coach Adam Cokonougher and MSJ for hosting these meets.

Mt. St. Joe is doing some great things for HS indoor track and field!

I've been to all of the HS meets at Mt. St. Joe and it's easy to tell who the first-time attendees are. They can't believe how nice of a facility it is. The remaining meets this year will fill up quickly, if they aren't already full. Looking at the online results, they had about 55 races on Fri. 1/17 and finished about 9:45PM (started running at 5:30) and this past Friday had 57 races and finished before 9:30. They had a bunch of Elder kids working the hurdles and it looked like the Elder coaches were helping the field events (perhaps in return for some indoor practice time?).

That'll be big for recruiting

They have “open track” time for students from 6:00 to 8:00 Monday thru Thursday for only $10 each.

Another good shot put result out of MSJ last night with Loveland's David Lorek extending his best to 60' 4", becoming the 3rd Cincinnati-area boy to cross over 60 feet indoors, behind only Turpin's 2021 State Champion, Gabe Hickman 61' 3 1/4" (2021), and Mt. Orab Western Brown's Macklin Tudor 62' 3 1/4" (2012).
