UIL Looking at Revamping Texas Playoffs

UIL is looking into revamping the playoffs by going to 10 classifications from the current 5 and having 16 districts per classification. The intent is to reduce the disparity of school sizes within a class. The proposal will be prevented and discussed in June. In the Fall of 2007 the biannual district realignment process begins. In order for the change to occur, it must be voted on by the superintendent.

I think the primary opposition will be due to the travel in rural areas of the state.
