UA 5, Moeller 0

A pretty tight game, it was 3-0 at half. Moe's D played really well, and the offense moved the ball around but just couldn't capitalize when given the opportunity. UA's defense did not disappoint, as the shots Moeller got off were few and far between, and were never uncontested. If these two play again I wouldn't be surprised for it to be a lot closer, maybe even go the other way.

I'd say each goalie had about 8-10 saves, UA definitely had more GBs. I can't remember who scored though. Face-offs were fairly even, maybe 60-40 UA. Shots were pretty even, around 10-12 each. It was a very patient game, when both teams had the ball they worked it around and waited until a good scoring opportunity came their way. Overall, I'd honestly say it was a pretty even game, UA's defense was just unstoppable and the difference maker.

This was an overall great game. I think if Moe's defense plays like they did today I don't see them getting beat by any team on the rest of their schedule, with the exeption of maybe TW and WRA. I realize that the offense played poorly, mostly because UA's defense is absolutely nasty, but once the O steps it up and plays to their potential they are going to be tough to beat.

When it comes to defense, you could have 3 great poles who are great at clearing, 1 vs 1's, slides, etc., but that doesn't make a good defense to be honest. UA's midfielders are on the same page with the poles constantly. You get the poles and middies together, and big things happen, and I think that's what happened with Moe vs UA.

That's what I meant, UA's team defense: middies, poles, and goalie. They all work extremely well together. If one person gets beat on the D, the slide man is there immediately, and the 2 slide is already there before the first slide even goes. They always have a nose for the ball and they always seem to come up with the big GB's. They are tough!

I think you're dreaming if you think anyone in Ohio is going to beat UA this year. Here's the Dispatch boxscore...

Moeller's defense held UA to 5 goals. That's incredible, if Moe's offense could capitalize on a few opportunities this game could easily go the other way.
How do you know that UA also didn't capitalize on several opportunities that could have turned that into a 10-0 game instead? What if's don't just work in one direction, ya know.

You did see in the boxscore where Moeller actually had more saves than UA, right?

You're right, what if's can go the other way. But we're just saying that it was a pretty tight game and that if Moe's offense could have scored on a couple of their great opportunities it might have gone the other way.

And yeah, I did see where Moe's goalie had more saves, but what are you trying to say here? Both goalies played a terrific game. I don't see what you're getting at on this one.

because i was there and moeller had many more legitimate scoring opportunities than UA.

That would seem to indicate that UA had as many, if not more, scoring chances as Moeller. I'm sure eastcoast is now going to say something about "legitimate scoring chances," but the save numbers don't seem to indicate that.

Also, considering UA's defense is widely recognized as extremely good, I also tend to doubt they'd allow any more "legitimate scoring chances" than Moeller's defense.

moeller hit pipe twice that i know of, and UA had two garbage goals, that would of made the score 3-2.. pretty close, i dont see any other cincy teams coming close to a 5-0 score

You're not biased at all, are you?

OK, so UA's goals were "garbage," and Moeller's non-goals were really "more legit?" Are you serious?

garbage meaning they picked two up by crease after a dodger had been checked and just shot when the goalie couldnt even see who dha the ball

I think the point MoeLax24 is trying to make is that the game could have gone either way. UA and Moeller both had pretty legitimate chances to score and UA capitalized on those better than Moeller. The game could have been much closer than it was, and it will be interesting if the two teams meet again.(maybe MSLA Tournament or State Tournament).

That makes sense considering X beat kilbourne and moe lost to kilbourne meaning X has a good chance of coming that close
