Teays Valley Volleyball Celebrates Senior Night, Falls to Logan
The Teays Valley Vikings volleyball team honored their five seniors—Brenna Carothers, Brianna Helser, Katie Reynard, Noa Craft, and Tessa Bradley—on Senior Night, October 10, against Logan.
Senior Spotlight:
These exceptional seniors have been instrumental in rebuilding the program, demonstrating outstanding leadership, community involvement, and dedication. Their achievements include:
Raising over $6,200 for charitable causes (Sideout Foundation, American Cancer Society, and Sara Bennett)
Volunteering at the Ashville Food Pantry and participating in the 2nd and 7th program
Contributing to the team's youth camp and fall youth league
Organizing team-building activities (OSU Team Camp and Cedar Point)
Individual Senior Achievements:
Brenna Carothers: 3-time varsity letter winner, 2-time captain, and over 600 career serve receptions
Brianna Helser: 140 kills this season
Katie Reynard: DS with only 1 missed serve all season
Noa Craft: Strong senior season as middle hitter
Tessa Bradley: Over 600 career assists and exceptional energy on the court
Game Recap:
Against Logan, the Vikings struggled in the first set (10-25) but showed resilience in the second set (23-25). Standouts included:
Jenna Pence (9 kills, 2 blocks)
Ellie Tatman (10/10 serve-receive passes, 12 digs)
Coach's Reflection:
"Logan is a strong team, but I'm proud of our girls for bouncing back in the second set. We need to reduce errors and improve serve receive. We'll focus on physical and mental preparation for our next game."
